Why does my PS4 look like shit in my HD Ready monitor?

Hey everyone. I tried searching for the solution on google but couldn't find any, so I thought I would ask you guys for help. I have an HD Ready monitor that I occasionally use for my ps4, but it looks like shit. (I don't know how to describe it in any other way tbh) Does anyone know why? I changed my ps4's resolution to 720p but it still didn't change anything.
