I need help setting up my amp

I bought a used Astro a40 amp so I could get more power to my headphones (not astros) I have it hooked it up and optical cables are all plugged in. I have the headset itself plugged into the front port, but my PS4 doesn’t seem to recognize my mic now. Did I mess up?
