So, I bought a PS4 console, which is a Sony-dedicated product. Money in the bank for Sony. The only way I can buy a PSN game is to own a Sony-built, Sony-dedicated console.
I then look at the sale prices, and they're systematically higher than Steam sales. Sometimes by A LOT. Sometimes by $20 or more!
My complaint is this: Why do I pay a premium for PSN games when I've already paid for their hardware? In the PC/Mac/Linux world, they give me the cheapest price on the game, while I spend my money elsewhere for hardware!
It's seems like a very odd business model. When you pay for the special hardware, you pay higher prices. When you don't, you get cheap. It feels like an arm-twisting price gouge, honestly. And it doesn't have to be that way.
(The same could be said of XBox, btw. And Nintendo's online store is the price-gougiest of all. I just happen to own a PS4. Console "sales" are always worse than Steam. Why?!)
tl;dr Dude thinks that PSN/Xbox/Nintendo sale prices should be more competitive because he's already paid for the dedicated console, whereas Steam saw no money from his hardware.
