[question] PS4 and PC are on same power strip, pc works, but PS4 does not, PS4 works fine when plugged into the wall or when power strip is reset. issue or not?
sorry for that title. but i bought a refurbished PS4 and its fine, but it just wouldnt turn on tonight, i plugged it into the wall directly and it is fine. but the surge protector was causing problems. before i reset it my pc was working fine off of it. but resetting the fuse makes the ps4 work now. is this common? is there some instruction i dont know? should i return it and get a different console that isnt broken? thanks guys for the help

Long story short I was watching livestream giveaway, however, this guy was wasn't no scamming like 98% of all other livestream giveaways, and I got my hands on a 50 dollar code, I redeem the code, it tells me the amount and asks if I want to redeem it, I click yes and it give me an error code. ( wc-40377-1 ). Any way to fix this, or did my dumbass get finessed?

PS4 overheating and Netflix stuttering
Recently moved home and when I set up my PS4 I noticed that it was running a little hot, and that the Netflix playback was a little jittery (dropped frames every minute or so).
I assumed the two issues were related, so I tried moving the machine to somewhere with better air flow. It is now sat on the top of my tv cabinet with nothing around it to interfere.
The problem continued so I though maybe it just needs a good clean. I took the thing apart right down to the last screw and cleaned it out with compressed air, replaced the thermal paste and put it back together.
It's running a little quieter (although the fan still seems a little over eager), but I'm still having the same issues with Netflix playback.
I'm going to try replacing the thermal paste again tomorrow incase that helps but has anyone had this same issue with Netflix? I'm wondering if maybe the two issues aren't related. I can live with a slightly noisy fan, but not the poor video playback
Couple of notes incase it helps: I've tried different titles on Netflix (same problem) I've tried running Netflix on my PS3 (no problem) Game play seems to be fine, although as always whilst I'm playing anything the PS4 does sound like it's trying to get back to its home planet

I noticed the download file but paused it and wasn't allowed to delete the download then randomly a pop said it auto started the update while I was watching Netflix. Don't find video games fun anymore but play them anyway. Anyone feel this way sometimes?
I remembered really enjoying video games when I first became a gamer 5 years ago. I could just play every game even bad ones and still got excited about them. Now, I tend to play them but barely finish them. I tried to make a list what I have to play and finish them but they never helped. Sometimes I enjoyed them first half of the game and then I stopped at the second half. Multiplayer games are what I play regularly, however, I don't actually find them fun but I can't stop playing them. I always feel guilty because I haven't finished singleplayer games and because I spent most of my time on the multiplayer, sometimes just browsing the game for hours and not playing it.
Am I getting old or video games are not for me anymore? I'm just 26 and I'm talking about video games in general.

i played the switch edtion and want to confirm it in r/ps4
I tested half an hour in the freestyle and 100% confirmed that the delay existed. In 2k17, when I shoot 3, I will release the button when the bar fills up, and it will always be an excellent shot, if i'm doing it right.
BUT in 2K18, no way
You have to release the button in advance to make an excellent shot .There must be an 0.5s delay. I tested hundreds of times shooting 3, and I'm shooting better now, but never as better as shooting in 2k17, because you cant know the exact releasing time ,you have to predict.

I've tried restarting the PS4, turning off 2 step verification for my google account, revoking the account and linking again, but every fucking time that I try to upload again I have to sign in again to allow permissions.

Hey,so i recently just bought a g230 and realised that it has 2 jacks,so i bought a splitter and it's just arrived today, when i plugged it into my controller the notification that says "microphone switched to headset connected to controller" but it wont receive my voice,all i could hear is only static when i increase the input volume mic. Any idea?

First time playing on console in 2 years, my hand gets sore/achy from sprinting in Call of Duty. Will it get better?
Used to play on an Xbox 360 back in the day and had no problems. Just got a PS4 today and was playing COD and I find that I have to grip the controller fairly hard in order to press R3 whilst moving to sprint, which means I get quite achy hands and where I grip the controller tight to press R3 and sprint (which is quite stiff to press and move), it makes my left middle finger a bit sore and irritated too from where it presses hard against the controller.
Will this get better? Is it just since it's my first time on a controller in a while? (I've been playing PC in the mean time)

Knack 2 Stuck Installing?
I've got this issue where I got Knack 2 from Redbox and when I put it in my ps4 pro it doesn't install. It downloads the update but when trying to install it, it sticks at 65mb or so and says like 19+hours to copy. Ive even tried disconnecting the internet and rebuilding the database.
Is it the disc or the console? Other games load fine digitally but I don't have another disc on hand to try.

Getting a used ps4 tommorow, what should i do?
Where i live, theres a knock off site of craigslist and its very famous in my island. There's a guy, (around 20-30 years old) whos selling a ps4 slim 500gb, with all cables (except hdmi) for 200$.
It brings also the controller and a unopened game of uncharted 4. He said that he bought it last christmas and since he got a xbox one, he wants to sell his ps4. The picture showed the controller and the ps4 in excellent conditions (top view) and he said if i wanted, he could send me more photos. If i were to test it, what should i do exactly?
controller troubleshooting
I need a little help. my ds4 decided it wanted to stop connecting to my PS4 and only connect via USB to my PC. after doing a little research I discovered that it was either the battery or the ribbon cable connecting the light bar (and USB) so I bought a 2000mAh battery cause if I'm gonna replace something I might as well upgrade it. after replacing the battery I discovered that it was not the battery after all. is there anything other than the ribbon cable that it could be? i dont suspect it's the ribbon cable as I can still use the controller on my PC via USB but the ribbon cable handles the lightbar and the USB. any help is appreciated even if that's just to tell me I posted in the wrong sub
Is there a microphone that has the mute button near the base of the controller?
This really frustrates me with the stock mic and most after market mics... the mute switch is on the cable.,.so to mute it I have to take my hand off the controller to mute and unmute .
Xbox 360 mic had the mute switch close to the base of the controller so it worked just like another button..,I could quickly mute and unmute without having to stop playing.
Any aftermarket mics that have this feature?

Anyone Halo fans go from Xbox One to PS4?
I'm super conflicted right now. I am primarily a PC gamer, but recently have been getting back into consoles - mostly because I'm getting older now and work at a desk/computer all day and the idea of relaxing on a couch after work and gaming with a gamepad on a TV is starting to become appealing.
So, I bought an Xbox One. Why? Because back before I built my first PC, I used to console game a lot (which was High School :P), and at that time I was obsessed with Halo. Halo 1-3 where part of my adolescence and early college days. Some truly great memories, online and offline. So, I picked up Halo: MCC and Halo 5 with this Xbox One.
Sadly, I ended up disliking Halo 5, which seems to have changed so much from the Halo I remember. I really hated it lol. However Halo MCC is excellent. It is incredibly nostalgic to play the old Halos again - something I had been missing since I got rid of my old Xbox/360/PS2/PS3 and only used PC for nearly a decade. I've beaten all the campaigns again and experienced them in 1080, which was excellent.
Great, right? Well.... here is the problem... now that I beat the MCC campaigns, I've been looking through the Xbox Library I am not interested in any other Microsoft exclusive games. Which, I'm also noticing... aren't even truly exclusives... since I can play nearly all of them on PC. Except Halo!!! So.. I am starting to feel that this console was a bad purchase.
Games that currently interest me greatly are Bloodborne, Horizon Zero Dawn, Nier: Automata, Uncharted 1-4 (never played any of these). Of course with my luck lol none of these are on Xbox. Further, I'm highly excited for Shadow of the Colossus remake, which is one of my favorite games of all time, and TLOU2! Of course... they are PS4 exclusives too! Nier is on PC, which is cool, but IDK something about playing that kind of game on PC seems odd to me.
Now, obviously the answer is then to trade in or sell my Xbox One, and buy a PS4 so I can play. Here's the issue - no more Halo. Since, for whatever reason (probably xbox console sales), Microsoft will not let Halo MCC be on PC. So, my question is has anyone who is like me i.e. a big oldschool Halo fan, traded their Xbox One for PS4 and been satisfied? Is it worth losing Halo over? Are Bloodborne, HZD, and Uncharted really that good?
The other thing I worry about is the DS4 for shooters. The DS3 was such garbage for aiming, that I never bought any shooters on PS3, missing out on titles like Killzone and Resistance. I MUCH prefer the DS3 for adventure games, 3rd person games, platformers, side scrollers, etc., but the position of the thumbsticks always felt awkward to me. The Xbox controllers were always very nice for shooters because of the thumbstick layout. Any former Xbox players get used to the DS4 and adjust to the thumbs? Is it decent this generation?
Note: I don't have any friends who play on either console, as all my friends play PC only, so that part doesn't matter to me. Of course, I hope to make new friends on console :D.
Sorry for the long post! TLDR: Any old Halo fans regret switching to PS4/are the PS4 exclusives worth losing access to some of my favorite games (Halo 1-3) over?
Edit: Also, is the PS online world better than it used to be? I always felt, at least back then, Xbox Live was worlds better than PS's online network. Have they caught up?

What I want from a Devil May Cry Collection on PS4
Firstly, I'd like to say that I want the core experience of these games to remain the same. I don't want N Sane Trilogy style remakes or any major changes that could potentially ruin the experience of these games, but instead small things like adding new content and some improvements that won't hurt any of the games. With that out of the way, here's what I'd want in a Devil May Cry Collection.
New Content:
• Make Lady a playable character In DMC3:
Make her moveset from the DMC3 boss fight and improve that rather than copy and pasting her DMC4SE moveset. Add her DMC4 outfit as a bonus and add a new unique outfit.
• Add on the fly style switching in DMC3:
This should only be unlocked for players who beat the game on Dante Must Die. This feature would be toggled on and off in the pause menu similar to the secret 4th styles in Yakuza 0. Players shouldn't be able to use on the fly style switching to easily get SS ranks, instead make it so that players get a penalty for using it in missions similar to how Super Costumes work.
• Add an auto saving feature:
Pretty much the exact same thing as DMC4SE but this time don't remove manual saves! In DMC3, players should have their Dante, Vergil and Lady progress saved under one save file similar to DMC4SE. Players should still be able to use other save files if they want to play on a fresh file without deleting their main save file.
• Add a training mode:
Allow the player to choose which enemy or boss they want to practice with and give the player an training menu that would give the player many options.
• Add a boss rush mode:
Allow the player to choose which order they want to fight the bosses in and let the player select only one boss fight if they wish. Make a default boss rush mode so that players who don't any to change anything can go in a play right away.
Improvements:
• Let people map any command to any button in DMC1 and DMC2, similar to how DMC3 and DMC4 let you.
• Fix all of the 4:3 menus.
• Fix some of the pre rendered cutscenes that are in a 4:3 aspect ratio and bad resolution.
Minor Improvements and Bug Fixes:
• Fix the issue in DMC3 where when the player plays as Dante and changes Devil Arms the previous Devil Arm would still appear to be equipped until the player used a melee attack.
• Fix all of the bugs in DMC3 that would corrupt and delete your save file.
• Fix the bugs in DMC3 where the game would freeze when using the Divinity Statue and in the menus.
• Fix the issue where you'd see a black screen when a cutscene was playing which made the game freeze.
Other Way To Make This Collection Great:
• Include DMC4SE with the collection:
If possible add a boss rush mode, training mode, and add classic costumes for Dante and Vergil to wear.
Also, fix major issues players had with DMC4SE such as the removal of manual saving and the changes to how certain combos work on enemy in SE compared to DMC4 Vanilla, this could be fixed with an option to switch between DMC4 Vanilla combat mechanics or DMC4 SE combat mechanic changes.
• Include the entire soundtrack for all games with this collection:
In the HD Collection on PS3 and 360 there were only a few tracks and many of the popular tracks like Devils Never Cry were missing. Maybe include it as a separate digital download or in the collection's main menu.
• Sell the collection for $60USD:
With this amount of new and improved content I don't think anyone would complain with this pricing. If DMC4SE was included it would only make this collection better and would justify this price.
• Include all of the DMC4SE avatars and the digital pre order theme in this collection:
This is a small thing but I think it'd make the fans happy and the people who prefer physical copies over digital.
Final Thoughts:
As you can see I love this franchise and I really want to see a collection like this that could introduce new players and reintroduce fans to the greatest hack n slash series ever created!
If a collection like this was made and given the marketing it deserves it would sell millions and would revive this series so that we could hopefully see a new game in the series.

Under Link My Services, I have the YT checked off.
When I try to upload a clip, it tells me to connect my SEN with my YT. I follow the on screen instructions, it tells me I'm good to go, loading..loading... back to the original screen, asking me to link my SEN to YT again. Endless fucking loop.
I've disconnected my SEN and relinked it via my Google Account and still nothing.
It literally worked fine the last time I tried uploading. No new PS4, no new Hardrive, nothing.

Hey there, so I want to give my PS4 away to my second cousin, however I'd like to use my account that I've got with my PS3, PSV, PSP and a 2nd PS4 if I were to buy it in the recent future (looking towards a PS4 Pro by the end of the year if the funds allow it).
I've read about this online, but I guess it's better if I ask the experts outright, sorry if this has been done before, but I've tried searching, honest!
So, from what I get, I should:
1) Download all the games I've got on my PS+ sub for the PS4 in the last two years since I've had the sub
2) Download all the games I had bought for the PS4, DLCs, themes, etc
3) Leave the account there, disconnect it from all access points
4) Change my password via PC
5) ????
6) Give the PS4 to him, and he should basically have access to all of those games (the PS+ ones until the expiry of it, but the full ones forever), am I right?
Is there anything else that I should be worried about? Or am I missing some crucial detail?
Please Help - Trying to Back-Up PS4, Save Data Sharing Same Folders
I don't know if this is the right place to post this, as this will be my first ever Reddit post, but I need some insight. If there's a troubleshooting thread, please move this post accordingly.
I'm trying to backup my PS4 save data game by game, in chunks, but I've noticed that when I plug in my USB to my computer, some of the game save folders have the same exact name as other games I've already transferred. So when I go to copy the files over, it wants to replace files in those folders. I'm afraid to do that, because it seems like it would be copying over system data from other games. The whole reason I'm backing things up (aside from it being a good idea in general) is that I had a problem when I booted up the system this morning where it wouldn't turn on properly and was saying I needed to download the update file from PlayStation's website and reinitialize the system.
Long story short, it didn't work because I didn't set up the update file in the correct file structure and the system restarted. I'm kinda glad it did, because it managed to boot up properly, so that's why I'm trying to backup my save data in case this happens again. I'd rather not lose my 200+ hours of Fallout 4 and Final Fantasy XV. Sorry if this is confusing; I'm pretty stressed out right now.
So basically what I'm asking is: Is this a normal thing? Should I just overwrite the files? Or should I copy each game over one at a time and separate the folders so that they don't copy over each other? Thanks for any help you doods can provide.
(By the way, just for reference, I'm backing up the files using this path: Settings>Application Saved Data Management>Saved Data in System Storage>Copy to USB Storage Device)
[Question] What is a good wireless headset that is compatible with the PS4 Slim?
I mean completely wireless, no cord connecting to the controller. Since the vast majority of headsets use optical for audio, I know they are incompatible with the new slim model (unless I purchase an adapter). Are there any headsets that work without one? I know the official PS4 headsets do, but I want to know what my options are, if any.

It's gotta be Dreams. This game was announced very early into the PlayStation 4 life-cycle and is developed by Media Molecule, the guys behind LittleBigPlanet.
LittleBigPlanet was Sony's flagship family friendly game for the PlayStation 3, so it's pretty surprising Dreams seems like it's taking a backseat. In a general advertisement for the PlayStation 3 (not an advertisement of any particular game), they used LittleBigPlanet as the game the family and Kevin Butler are playing. Link, And Another One
Then LittleBigPlanet 3 came along, made by a different developer, and it was the buggiest game ever. Tearaway looked alright, but nowhere near as ambitious as LittleBigPlanet. Finally Dreams comes along, was supposed to have a beta release in 2016, and here we are nearing the end of 2017 and still no beta.

With magazines that is, a few years ago when it was still the PS3 era, I randomly decided one Friday when it was payday I would get a takeaway some drinks and buy a PS3 mag with a demo disc to look at some games. So I went to buy a copy of UK PlayStation magazine to get the disc only to find they don't have demo discs anymore, the mag was still about £6 as well, which was at that time still more than the rest of them, which almost offended me, I thought to myself "fuck off, nooo, no, obviously I'm not going to pay that for a PlayStation magazine" that's like paying for a prostitute only to find out she hasn't got a fanny.
Yeah I get it you can download demos these days, I'm not a dumb ass, but even with modern broadband, a dual-layered blu-ray is 50gbs, that's also 50gbs on a small disc that isn't taking up space on my hard drive. So I fail to see how they could be completely obsolete.
Suppose it's a similar story as to why I still liked to rent blu-rays over streaming until Blockbuster when bust, because 1. even with HD streaming it's better quality 2 it got me and my mate out the house on a bit of jolly and 3 it was a lot cheaper, almost half the price.
First Impressions of Fortnite's Battle Royale Mode
Hi everyone,
I know that I personally was very excited to hear about the addition of a Battle Royale mode to Fortnite, because, like many others, I am without a (sufficient) PC and very interested in this whole PUBG phenomenon. As a disclaimer, I was also interested in Fortnite since its release, and have considered picking it up for the PvE mode it offers but had decided to wait until it became F2P later on, due to several early reviews criticizing its monetization model and microtransactions. Regardless, I'm too impatient to wait for PUBG to come to console, and no one else seemed to be posting their thoughts on this game mode, so I thought I would present my own.
After about 10 matches, I can say that this is definitely a faithful recreation, specifically when compared with the other Battle Royale-esque games available on PS4. I don't know how well it holds up to PUBG itself, because I've never played the latter game. However, when compared to the other two offerings available (The Division's Survival mode, and GTA's Motor Wars) this is the most accurate representation of the popular game mode that I am aware of.
In case you are not familiar with either PUBG or Fortnite's BR mode, I will quickly summarize both games with a sentence that accurately describes both (to also demonstrate their similarity): 100 players skydive onto a large island from an aircraft. On this island, they will search for weapons, ammo, and other valuable items, and fight to be the last person standing. In order to drive conflict, there is a slowly shrinking 'area of play.'
Technical concerns up first: The game runs well, considering that it is in early access. You will see character models jump here and there, but for the most part this sort of bugginess only occurs in the pre-match waiting area. Once in the match, I have experienced very little in the way of lag, bugs, etc. Bear in mind, I've only played about 10 matches, but at the moment the game seems to be capable of running 100 concurrent players on a single map with only the minor niggle here and there.
If you've looked at the game you know that it employs are more 'cartoonish' art style. To me, this isn't a huge concern, although I will admit that I prefer the more realistic aesthetic of PUBG or even The Division's Survival Mode. However, once in the match, I find that I'm rarely paying attention to the cartoonish nature of the graphics - it doesn't distract from the core experience (IMO), and some may even find it more to their liking. The animations are nothing to write home about, and the UI is rather basic. Again, I wouldn't say that any of this broke my immersion, but its certainly something to be aware of. Ultimately, I think this aesthetic could be leveraged as a positive in Fortnite's favor - because while it detracts from the tension (IMO), it also gives the game the future possibility of some fun, fantastical elements that couldn't be present in a more 'realistic' aesthetic. We will see if the devs capitalize on this in the future...
With regards to gameplay, I'm quite pleased thus far. I've died a couple times in the first 30 seconds, but thats the nature of the game! I've also been one of the last 2 alive already, so I've seen both sides of the spectrum. The game's tone is probably best conveyed as 'tense.' You must constantly think about engaging in firefights or hiding. The game feels a bit like hide-and-seek, because once somebody has got their sights on you, you're practically dead. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, I just wanted to convey that you shouldn't expect long, drawn out firefights. My longest firefights have occurred when I am being shot at from a distance and I have to assess where the shots are even coming from. But once you are up close, most duels only last moments - just as fast as someone can pull the trigger. So despite the cartoonish aesthetic, the TTK is surprisingly low, and this adds to the overall tension of the game and also makes you think more tactically about how to enter a conflict, or whether to enter at all.
Finally, theres the crafting/construction element. I have used this to great effect in a couple matches and I think it will be a central element to doing well in this incarnation of the 'Battle Royale' idea. At first I didn't think the construction would be so useful, but as it turns out, being able to quickly fashion a set of stairs to get on top of a house, and then set up a border on the roof to safely monitor any activity nearby is surprisingly cool and powerful. Building takes some time, makes some noise, and also distracts you from keeping an eye on your surroundings, so pursuing construction strategies can be dangerous, but also well worth it if you pull it off.
Overall, I'm pleased with the new mode and I think it will satiate my desire for a BR mode on PS4, for the moment at least. There are a couple things I'd like to see changed/improved:

Vehicles need to be added. The map is big enough that sometimes you can get stuck running for a prolonged period of time. This isn't a gamebreaker or anything, but the addition of some form of vehicles would be fantastic. It would also help add some chaos to the title which I think, as it stands, can feel a little quiet at times.

Squads/Teamplay: Everyone knows this is a highly desired feature, even EPIC, so I'm not going to waste my breath. They've stated that Squads are coming ASAP, so I'm not that concerned about this at the moment.

Finally, and most importantly, I think some of the guns and the general gunplay need some tweaking. In particular, the assault rifles feel 'off' - they fire a bit too slow and the spread seems a little wide for my liking. Also, I personally would prefer it if they would make the over-the-shoulder aiming a little tighter. Again, its not terrible the way it is, but it just feels a little weak in terms of the difference from the standard camera and the OTS for my liking.
Anyway, I hope this helps anybody who is looking for a Battle Royale experience on PS4. I was sorely needing some impressions of the game, as I wanted to see if it was worth buying during the 25% off sale, but it didn't seem anyone was coming forward with detailed opinions about it.
Since the new Update my PS4 has been destroying my WiFi in my house while also getting poor connection Speed to the PS4 itself
I'm not sure what to do anymore. When I turn my PS4 on the WiFi in my whole house is cut to less than 1 Mbps down and when I turn my PS4 off my other devices return to normal. On top of that, even though the PS4 seems to be hogging the WiFi, it's still only getting 1Mbps down on average. The only game I play is Destiny and I was able to play it fine before the update now I can't even play, I just disconnect right away.
Wired connection is preferred, I am aware, but it's not possible in my case nor is moving the PS4 closer to the router.
Anybody know what's causing this or how I can fix it?

Live Events App Quality

External HD has suddenly stopped being recognised.
We more or less filled our 1tb internal HD and opted to buy a 5tb external to give us some more capacity.
Plugged it in, formatted it. All working fine, great, started moving some stuff over.
This afternoon I decided to play a little and discovered I couldn't access some of my games. I have now figured out that for some reason the PS4 has completely stopped recognising the drive. It just says that there are no USB devices connected.
I have turned off the HD, then the console, then both, then the console first. Tried both USB ports, checked the cable is OK, sacrificed a rubber chicken... You get the Idea.
I have driven myself crazy trying to Google the problem, all of the articles I can find are about new HDs that people have forgotten to format.
Can anyone shed some light before I snap and break something.

Controller won't turn the console on ?
I got this problem with my launch DS4 out of nowhere. It works normally while the console is running, but if for example the console is in rest mode or turned off, I cannot turn the console on with my DS4 controller, its just blinking pale blue light on the touchpad (only way is to press the button on the console). Tried resetting my controller (holding the reset button for 10 seconds), but nada. Has anyone else experienced this problem ?
Blue light of death question
Took ps4 apart, tried multiple HDMI and power cables, nothing out of the ordinary under the hood. Harddrive seems to be fitted in correctly although I did not take it out. Should I just throw it out at this point? I might dissect it if I get bored. The warranty is most likely void and I'd prefer not to waste another dime on a sony product. Any other possible explanations for blue light of death?

How to fix my mic.
So I got a new mic a week ago. It plugs into the PS4. But now all of sudden today, when I talk to other people, they hear like a sound like a speaker would make. How do I fix this.
There should be a complex RPG for the PS4 that comes with a Guide for your smart phone that syncs with your character and updates your location and stats in real time.
It could include Menus as well.
I'm playing Person 5 and was looking something up on my phone and thought to myself how cool it would be to have a personal guide open on my phone that contains all menus, quests, settings options, maps (with character location), stats, what have you updated in real time with my character. It could be the ultimate guide essentially.
I know there's already apps out there but I'm thinking of something much more involved with gameplay. Almost like removing the HUD from the TV and putting it on your phones screen with walkthrough options and junk like that.

Hi, I bought a €100,00 paysafe card to add to my psn wallet but when I try to redeem the code the amount selection jumps from 50 to 150. Am I doing something wrong?
My PS4 aren't running games smoothly, most of them feels very choppy..
It might just be that I'm really just having a hard time adapting from PC gaming to console gaming, and that it feels much smoother on PC generally or something, but from my past experiences like 2-3 years ago, it really didn't feel that laggy back then as it does now, when I used to play on my Xbox 360. I have some games I wanna buy, Destiny 2 and Fallout 4 for instance, but there is really no point yet if my Ps4 can't run any games without feeling very choppy. The only game that runs fine is Black Ops 3, but I guess it's to be expected. Anything else like Skyrim, GTA V or smth feels quite laggy and unplayable imo. So what could the problem be? Thought of having professionals repair it or something, but maybe it can be fixed at home.
Edit: Could it possibly be that I've barely touched my ps4? Had it for like 1.5 years, and it is really not used very often, only for netflix or hbo and sometimes it's just left in the dust. I can't tell, because I've only played Black Ops 3 at the start, a game that's never felt laggy on my ps4. It was much later on that I bought more graphic intensive games.
Should I initalize my ps4?
I'm having some issues with destiny 2, the game will stutter whenever I enter a new area and sometimes in loading screens, but as far as I know I'm not really having any other problems with loading or stuttering. Would initializing fix it?
PS4 Controller "Mind of it's own/possessed"
I'm playing RE5 on my PS4 & yesterday I noticed the controller was doing strange things for example, if I moved left then my character would continue moving far after I stopped moving the analog stick. Then I would press pause but it would scroll a few down or up through the menu. Today I am noticing both the analog sticks AND the D pad seem to have a mind of their own.
I thought maybe my controller broke even though I've only had this controller maybe 6 months and I bought it new at a gamestop store. I tried using my 2nd ps4 controller and the same thing happens. I dont understand how this problem could be occurring even after I switched to a different controller.
Has anyone had this same ps4 controller problem, where the ps4 controls seem to have a mind of their own?

Gamesharing question
Just want to confirm something. So to gameshare with the ps4 at my brother's house, I logged into the opposite ps4 with the other person's account, and set those new accounts to the primary account of that new ps4. If my brother wants to download my games, and play them on his account, he has to sign into my account, download them, then they will show up in his library when he signs in, is that right? We're just trying to figure this out, see if theres a way that doesnt log eachother out haha. We thought it would just show up in eachother's library like for xbox.

Drum game for PS4
I have a 4year old boy that's showing an amazing talent for the drums, he already has a passion for gaming therefore I think the route to getting him started with drums is to combine the two.

Ps4 pro constant freezing and crashing
Idk what is the main cause of all this but I'm frustrated that I can't play my PS4 without constant crashing and freezing. I last downloaded the FIFA demo and everything went down hill from there. I do have the latest update. Idk if that matters but I'm seeing players with 4.74 update having this issue as well.

Remote play issues
I can get my tablet linked with the system on the connection, but not on the remote play. I can control my system with the second screen on the app, but my second screen won't actually work. It just says "screen not currently in use" and I can't figure out how to use it. Any help?

Questions about powerline
So... I have crappy wifi. Download speeds through my router are good, but Suddenlink internet is trash for gaming if you arent wired. It isnt a stable connection. I also cant run a wire across the house or through walls, and to get a coax cable installed in my room basically would force me to also have the base for my landline in my room as well, and I dont have space for that.
Tldr Looking into powerlines.
Here are my questions. 1. Will this work okay in general with PS4? Like, am I risking lighting it on fire? 2. What is the recommended brand? Got almost 100mbps download through the modem legit, I just want something that I can rely on to hold up. 3. I have a lot of crap plugged into surge protectors. Literally have 2 with 8 outlets. Can I plug this into the wall and then a surge protector into the powerline without interference for internet?

Best router for multiple PS4's on same network?
I have a Netgear R7000 Nighthawk. I have multiple PS4's, sometimes 3 on the same network (wireless) and have uPnP turned on. My son and I like to play games together but when we are in party chat the voice audio cuts out and we can only hear every other word when one of us talks. Do you think that my router is old and maybe the processor can't keep up with everything that is going on? This has been happening for a while. Our headsets are in great shape and are fairly new. Occasionally it will say something like "cannot chat with (his name) due to NAT issues. I am getting very frustrated. Just wanted to rule out the router before I go spend a couple hundred bucks.

PS4 Wireless Gold Headset Not Working On PS4 Only
So I have a Wireless gold headset that I tend to switch between my PC and PS4. I haven't used it as much lately, but my SO recently got her PS4 and wanted the headset, but I couldn't get it to play audio. When I plus the dongle in, it recognizes it, as the audio from the TV cuts out as though it swtiched to headphones. However, I don't get any sound.
If I go to settings> Devices> audio devices, volume control is greyed out as though the device is not recognized. If I adjust Microphone level, it plays back when I talk, so I know the speakers are working and it's receiving audio. Furthermore, if I put the dongle back in my PC, it works fine for audio.
I tested it on my own PS4, and I have the same problem I described above with hers. For whatever reason, it doesn't want to work exclusively on PS4s.
For the record, all firmware on both the PS4 and headset are up to date. I'm completely stumped and could use some help.
Uncharted The Lost Legacy opinions.
I've platinumed every Uncharted game except for the couple on the PS Vita, and I recently finished Uncharted TLL and holy cow. It's absolutely incredible. I actually think it might be my favorite of the entire franchise, and Chloe has become my new favorite heroine. Even though I knew what I was getting into with this game -- more Uncharted with snappy/sarcasm dialogue and set pieces -- I wasn't expecting to have the kind of emotional impact that Naughty Dog always delivers.
So far, even though I love and platinumed Horizon Zero Dawn, and thoroughly enjoyed Persona 5, Uncharted TLL is my current GOTY. Anyway, TL;DR. Sorry for the rant.
If my ps4 downloaded the last 5% as quickly as it did the first 95%, my games would be ready so much faster...

Is there a way to transfer trophy data from ps3 to ps4 without psn?
My ps3 has had this error where it can't update; as a result, I can't access psn on there and sync the trophy data that way. I just got a platinum for Jak and Daxter and I'm close to ones for Jak 2, Jak 3, Skyrim, Infamous 1 & 2, and Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time. It's not like I can't live without the trophies on my profile, but it'd obviously be better if I could transfer them somehow.

Having issues with a PS4
So I just purchased a used PS4 off of the app Let go, and was only told it needed an update so I take it home and set it all up and I received a pop up saying "PS4 cannot power on" so after doing research and calling PlayStation support. I had to reinstall the current update through a USB and do a whole bunch of bullshit, but no matter how times I re-intialize the the system or restore it's database through safe mode, I can't get it to work. I've have installed the update multiple times and every time the system resets it just says the same thing. I've asked the person ive got it from for a refund, but I haven't heard back from them yet(due to them being at work) and they haven't blocked me yet, if I cant return it, is there anything else I can do to try and get it to work?
Note: As soon as it turns on it goes to that error, there's no intial start up with the blue screen.
Share play stopped working with one friend for no reason
So im 100% sure its not my connection thats the issue (1gb up and down 2 ping, wired) and he could connect up until about mis last week. Every time he joins he says he just gets a blue screen then it says player cant connect to ps4. Any ideas on a fix?

I updated to the latest beta 5 and it still asks me to update when I play Destiny 2. If I say later it just disables online play in the game which is the entire game.

PlayStation Support for account debt banning corrections is a joke.
So a few weeks ago my debit card # was stolen, my bank said it was probably part of that Equifax hacking. Whatever, banks going to run chargeback.
I called Sony a few days AFTER the bank took all these actions and let them know what was going on, and asked if there was any issues on my account and to put a note down in case something happened. The rep said I was good and all is well.
This morning my account was banned from a chargeback. I call support and they direct me to get a psn prepaid code and submit it to some site. I explained what happened etc.
Well apparently I now will need to wait 1 to 2 business days aka Tuesday, maybe. So, I have to wait for some department to get this code and apply it to my account. Why is it not automated? If it's a pre paid psn code, then easily this could be done instantly. Why can't support do this? Why can't they take your debit card or code on the phone?
It's simply archaic in design and it's not right. I did the right thing by calling in advance to avoid something like this from happening, and it made 0 difference.
~~To Clarify - My PSN was not hacked, nor did someone buy something through my PSN. I have purchases on the PSN. My bank, while running their own checks, tagged a purchase that had been made in a certain window that included things that I did not buy (200$ pre-paid cards in turkey. 6 of those and some other bullshit). Since a purchase that I made on the PSN was disputed, it was automatically flagged my account as being 20 bucks in debt, aka auto ban until it's paid off.
I paid it off, with the pre-paid card like they wanted, but it still is going to take multiple days. And searching online for other people that have had this issue, shows that some have waited weeks sometimes before getting their accounts back.

Is it possible to use a pre-loaded hard drive on a brand new PS4?
My PS4 recently broke and I had to buy a new one. I bought the new one today and took the hard drive from the old one and put it in the new one. When I start up the ps4 I have to install the firmware so i put the firmware on a usb and plug it in. Here is where the problem is. When I click install, a message comes on screen telling me something along the lines of "The ps4 will be initialized. All users and data will be lost. Are you sure you want to continue?". Does this mean that by installing the firmware I will lose all my installed games, save files etc.? Do any of you know a way around this? There is around 700GB of data on my ps4 hard drive and I do not have a hard drive big enough to back all that up. Thanks.

Help moving data from old ps4 hard drive to new ps4
Hey everyone, I tried searching online for help with my situation but everything that comes up is related to the ps4 app transfering data if they're both still set up
My old ps4 (almost 4 years old) died from a bad power source, I decided to just replace it with a ps4 pro instead of trying to get it fixed. I have a few save files on the old ps4 hard drive which is still fine, but that ps4 won't turn on at all so I can't connect via network to just move everything over. Am I able to just connect the old ps4 drive to my PC and transfer save data over and then move it from there to my new ps4 using a usb or something? If so, do I need any kind of adapter to connect the old removed hard drive to my PC? I didn't actually check when I removed it what the connection on it was like

Remote play app stuck at "registering", help?
I've done a search here and on the PS help site, no luck so far.
PS4 at home, MacBook Pro running Sierra. I loaded the remote app on my laptop at home and went through the setup there. Got it to where the laptop was mirroring the PS4 screen. (PS4 has a wired connection, laptop was on the same network via WiFi).
Now traveling, I launch the remote app and hit the controller's "option" button. Remote app is able to find my PS4, but then switches to "registering" and just hangs there for maybe 5 minutes and then I get an error message saying the connection was lost.
I've tried rebooting laptop and remote app and turning of my laptop's antivirus (although the antivirus was running when it connected successfully at home). Also, while my laptop is connecting to WiFi still, it is a pretty fast connection and there aren't any other devices hogging the bandwidth.
Any suggestions? Sadly I don't have access to the router configuration here.

PS4 Controller issues
So earlier I was playing and I dropped my controller about a foot maybe onto the ground, I picked it up and it disconnected. It wont turn on or even blink when I try using it and yes I tried resetting the controller via the small button. It only turns on when plugged in, and the speaker makes a very small "tsk tsk tsk tsk tsk tsk tsk tsk tsk tsk" sound non-stop. I am not sure what happened but please someone help.

Headset PS4 chat Stereo output enabled?
Aloha, quick question regarding PS4 3.5m plug in headsets. I am one of those guys who detest those earphones because they simply don't want to stay in the ear, so I want to buy some cheap nice headphones.
Local store got the Gioteck XH100 for 20 quid, nothing too fancy. I heard though that some headsets despite having stereo output will only output chat to one side of the ear due to limitations in terms of the plug or sth.
Is this just false news or are there certain hs that do that. i did Google but nothing solid came up thanks for the help
Worth the upgrade to PS4 Pro?
I currently have $220 in Game-Stop credit, and i believe Gamestop has a deal where you will get an extra $50 in store credit when you trade any PS4 (deal until September 17) , so I wouldn't need to take money out my own pocket, Is it too late in the cycle to upgrade, I currently have a Sony Bravia, but hopefully in the coming months i can upgrade to a 4K TV, and not a crappy one. Is it worth it?

TL;DR: Did a ton of research on Scuf Impact, it was mostly negative. Got one anyways and couldn't be more satisfied.
I just wanted to provide my feedback here for the people who are researching whether or not to spend the money on a Scuf. I did a considerable amount of research, and went back and forth on whether or not I should grab one. I read all the horror stories, read through all the poor reviews here, and asked questions to people who had positive and negative opinions on it. I even researched alternative controllers that are considerably less expensive but claim to do the same or similar things.
I have had my impact for a little over a month, and it has worked flawlessly. I have used it for both Overwatch and Destiny 2, and it has definitely helped me to be more mobile. I play notably better in Overwatch with DPS heroes, and am loving the speed and mobility I am getting in Destiny 2.
I didn't know how much I loved it until last night when I decided to play with my standard PS4 controller because my Scuf was downstairs on my monitor setup. I was going to just pop in Destiny 2 for a few minutes to do some inventory management, and that turned into an hour and a half of shooting monsters. I immediately noticed that the size felt awkward (which is how I felt first getting used to the Impact), and that I relied HEAVILY on the paddles, especially X and Square (jump and reload in this case).
Lastly, here are the specifics that I was looking for when I was researching but couldn't find outside of several very annoying YouTube videos. For context, I got the Impact with the maxed package that comes with all the addons.
- It was immediate to get used to the paddles in Overwatch. Plug-and-play.
- It took about 5-7 hours to get used to the size/shape of the controller. A little tough to get used to the hand placement and since I have medium sized hands it felt pretty different from the standard PS4 controller.
- It took about 1-2 hours to get used to Destiny 2 PvP to get the hang of it. A lot of accidental paddle presses, especially in PVP.
- I exclusively use jump and reload via the paddles (mapped to outside right and outside left, respectively), but sometimes use Triangle and O on the face depending on the scenario.
- I'm glad I went with adjustable hair triggers with stops, I didnt notice the difference until I went back to the standard PS4 controller.
- 4 paddles aren't necessary, but the Impact's shape is.
- Standard build and shipping took 8 days to my door. The website didn't update past processing, but I got an email alert when it went to a new stage of production.
So there are my thoughts. I understand and respect that this isn't everyone's experience, but again I wanted to provide some positive feedback since it seems to be few and far between.
Transfer game save from disk to online version
So I have a disk of Metal Gear Solid 5 No matter what I do it won't install the online play update so I was thinking of buying the online bundle which would download it to the PS4 with the online play files included.
Is the save game automatically transferred over or do I have to do something specific to enable transferring the save game from a disk install to a cloud install.

I haven't used PS+ in a couple years, and my roommate just bought Destiny 2, so I have a couple questions about renewing my subscription. Can we login to separate local PS4 accounts to with the same PS+ so we each have our own Destiny accounts to play with? This is all on one console. I just don't want to have us to pay for separate PS+ accounts just to have 2 different Destiny 2 profiles.

Fifa 18 demo vs beta
Hi all, I'm new to reddit so please be kind lol.
I just want to hear from anyone who played the fifa 18 beta and the demo.
Basically I'm confused, I played the beta and absolutely loved it. The players had weight to them and the pace seemed perfect to me as it was slower than 17.
Then I played the demo, what happened? It's so similar to fifa 17, too fast and frantic no build up play needed and it felt to me just like 17, why did they do this it's?
Is it just me? Or has anyone else noticed this?
I was really looking forward to 18 now I don't know if I'll bother as you might aswell just stick with 17 if it is like the demo when it comes out.
I can't sign into an existing PSN account on new PS4
I purchased a new PS4 yesterday and attempted to sign into my existing PSN account I used with my PS3, after I created a new user and put in my account login details it asks me to confirm/update my privacy settings. After pressing next I then get stuck on an indefinite 'please wait' screen with my only option to go back. I know it isn't an issue with PSN or my internet as I successfully created a brand new psn account and signed straight in with that. I've spent almost 6 hours trying to fix this issue coming no closer to a solution. I rang the PS4 support line and they were of little help and simply said they would escalate it and email me if they find a solution. Has anyone experienced this before or had a similar problem? I can't think of what the issue can be I have tried everything.

Hey everyone. I bought ff14 from the PlayStation store and now it's installing after opening a web page. However, if I come out of the web page to play another game while I'm waiting the installation stops and I have to restart the process again.
Is this usual or am I missing out something? If it's going to take 2.5 hrs to download and I can't touch the PS4 in until it's done then that sucks!

Any game like This War of Mine?
So, this is probably a long shot, but is there any game similar to This war of mine or with the same basic theme (just trying to survive but with dramatic consequences to your choices and/or without you being an overpowered character)? I loved this game but it's too short and, once you learn how to do things, it becomes incredibly easy. I still have some stories to do, but I don't feel like it (for now at least) since it's pretty much repeating the same strategy all over again.
Any ideas? I know it's a long shot, the game is kinda unique, but anything even slightly familiar would be nice.
Controller struggles to connect while vita play works fine after replacing HDMI port on an original PS4. Any ideas on how to fix?
Opened up an original PS4 to replace the HDMI port. Everything went fine, didn't mess with anything else, and put together with no issues. HDMI works perfectly now but the PS4 controller struggles to connect and stay connected.
The controller eventually gets connected (tried both wired and wireless) but disconnects not too long after. It may move on its own as well during gameplay before disconnecting. Tried the remote play and it works with zero issues. I would think they both connect the same way via wireless so really not understanding what's going on.
Any ideas on why this may be happening?

Dualshock 4 (older model) charges but won't stay connected to the console.
Not sure what to do at this point other than buy a new controller.
It's currently charging but it shows that it has a full battery. Most of the time it won't connect at all (even when connected via USB), but when I can get it to turn on it will stay on for around 15 seconds and then disconnect. When it is on it has random phantom pushes of the home button.
I have reset the controller multiple times.
Really want to finish the raid on D2 tonight but I don't know if I can fix or have a new controller by then. Suggestions please??

Hi, guys. I pre-ordered NBA 2K18 about two weeks ago, and it came out last night. I sat on my ass to play it on release, and as soon as midnight hit, I launched it, but then I got an error message. I restarted my PS4, and the error still showed up. I eventually gave up, went to play Madden, same error. I contacted @AskPlaystation on Twitter, and they told me to rebuild my database and check for system updates or game updates -- I did both, and everything is up to date, and the rebuild didn't work. Some help would be great.

Since FF15 got a lot of downloads since it first came out, I'm wondering if my PS4 has been automatically been updating it (in rest mode) while I've been busy to other matters or do I have to find the updates myself? It seemed to launch fine (from Disc) but I just want to check.

For about a month or so my psn has been acting weird. I don't show up on peoples friends list anymore, my status says that I am online but I never show up online for anyone anymore, The number of friends online is always incorrect for me and the number only goes down never up and the notification for "when friends go online" doesn't work anymore.
I did try rebuilding the database on my other ps4 but that didn't work. I recently upgraded to a ps4 pro and nothing has changed. My ps4 pro did do a initialization and that changed nothing

New system update causing problems with Vue?
Anyone here use PS Vue and been having problems with the video buffering a lot after the most recent system software update? I have a long history of both competitive and causal gaming. I ran a platoon in a huge clan in clan battles, and also ran my own clan for some time. I am looking to find some players that are the opposite of that. I am looking to find some mature adults that play from time to time for fun. I have 2 little kids so swearing is scarce and i just want to game with some people who are like minded. Switching out the internal HDD, what happens to my external HDD?
Hi! I want to swap the internal 500 GB PS4 drive for a 2tb one. I have a external HDD connected right now where most of my games are installed on. I want to declutter my desk so the external HDD has to go. Does anyone know what will happen when I switch out the drive? Will the external HDD connect again so I can copy all of my games to the new internal HDD or won't the system recognize the drive?

I was playing Gravity Rush 2 and then the next day my Ps4 was in rest mode there was something in the applications saying data corrupted and that's all. Can you guys help at all? This has never happened to me before. ( IDK if this helps I was downloading something, but the download was perfectly fine )

Sometimes games lag and I think this is because it has to upscale. Is there any fix to this?

I am looking between Shadow of war and MVC. I know they are Very different games. One one hand I did enjoy shadow of mordor, but I really REALLY dont want to support WB for their DLC practices and business model. For MVC I loved 3, but am afraid the story mode will fall flat.

I know that custom avatars are not allowed, and sort of understand why. But today, I looked at the newest avatars that are available, and found that a lot of them are home-made looking. Screenshots of Family Guy, google image grabs, etc etc.
Seeing these, I thought to myself, "These are not the most professional avatars. But yet, these are PS4 sanctioned? They really seem like low rent avatars made up by low rent companies." I began to wonder if they are allowed to hawk their wares though PS4, maybe I can set something up so I can finally make my own true custom avatar as well and "sell" it as well (but really, only setting it up for myself to use). How do these fringe companies start a relationship to sell/or give away for free, avatars and themes things on PS4.
And if you're wondering why I am using the term "low rent" it's because 1: some of these avatars are not that great, and 2: they are trying to sell that garbage for high profit (example: image of a diamond for 30$). How does PS4 even allow that?
PS4 controller random input lag?
I have a launch PS4 with the old version controller. Just started playing my PS4 again for Destiny 2.
I'm noticing that during random times there will be significant lag between button pushes and what actually happens on screen. This is the start of the issue. A few seconds later I lose all control of my character and I start spinning in circles or running forward randomly.
Eventually the issue resolves itself after 10-20 seconds.
My controller isn't low on battery. I typically have my headset plugged in, but i'm using a wired headset (it doesn't have bluetooth).
Has anyone had any success fixing this issue? Also, am I able to play with a wired controller on the launch PS4 if I just buy a newer controller? Does PS4 Pro even have this issue?
Looking to buy the Survival DLC for The Division but have a question about region locking
I have two accounts on my PS4, one from the UK (where I bought the console and my main account) and one in Canada (Where I am currently living and my sub account) I bought The Division on my Canadian account but play on my main, I want to buy the Survivor DLC and play it on the main. I know i'll have to buy the DLC from the Canadian store, is it possible to play it on my main account? I'm quite a high level and don't really want to start again.

Should I be removing my PS4 Pro from its power supply at the wall when it is switched off? I've never been sure - what does a console do with power when it is off but plugged into the wall? Cheers!
Bluetooth headset for PS4
Hi.
I am thinking of buying a wireless Bluetooth headset. Can anyone confirm that it wont work with my PS4 unless I connect through a USB adapter, or 3.5MM jack cable?
I can only find posts saying it wont work - but they are all kind of old, and I feel like the table on this link says otherwise. Maybe they added the functionality in a firmware update?

How do I fix my broken HDMI port in my PS4?
Title. Up until a few days ago the HDMI in my PS4 was working splendidly, but now whenever I want to use it, I have to wiggle both the cord and the PS4 to just the right spot for it to work. I know it's the port as I've tested with 3 HDMI cables now, mine, my brothers, and a friends, so it isn't the cable, nor is it the monitor for my PC.
Has anyone encountered this issue before, and if so, if you managed to fix it, could you provide me with an answer? I apologize if this is a rookie question or whatever, I'm not so good with the internal hardware and don't want to go poking around with stuff that I don't know what does.

Sorry if this has been asked to death - But I am still unclear. Does every copy of this on PS4 come with access to the Stick of Truth?
I ordered on Simply Games for £39 and I emailed them and they had no clue. They said they dont believe it comes with anything other than the base game. Just wondering if it comes in all copies. If not I will just cancel and order with Amazon for £44 to make sure I get both.
