This might be a dumb question but I’d never seen this before so here goes.
I preordered Shadow of War and when I read the confirmation email it said the expected play date was this Monday at 9PM. Does this mean I’ll get to play it a couple hours early or is this more of a rough estimate based on the release date and I’ll have to wait til midnight?

I tried installing Fornite from the Playstation store, it didn’t work, so I decided to continue what I was doing (at the time, a raid on Destiny 2) for around an hour and a half without problem. I log off for 15-30 seconds to switch characters, and it suddenly says I need Playstation plus to do these activities.
I thought it was weird, because I have Playstation plus. It doesn’t run out for many more months. So, I tried renewing the licence and got this error. I googled it and tried everything suggested, reset my PS4, signing out, rebuilding the database, going online through my phone, deactivating and reactivating as primary PS4, etc.
When I go to the Playstation store on the PS4 and go to the PS Plus section, it says I’m already a Playstation Plus member as well. But, I cannot download any games or do anything that requires Playstation plus, on any game. Anyone have any suggestions as to how to fix this?
Making a new account isn’t much of an option due to spending lots of time on most the games I have there, and majority of the games being digitally downloaded - not disc.
Games reading as unrecognized disc
So I've had problems with my PS4 for awhile.
Insert DVD it works fine. Insert anything bluray (movie or game it won't read)
Today I tried to put in Fallout 4 and get an unrecognized disc error. Put in a bluray movie it reads it just fine.
I've taken the disc drive out several times to clean the laser and usually that works, but today it was a flop.
Any advice other then buying new hardware.

I recently bought COD Legacy Edition. I go to redeem the MWR code that came with the disc and the Terminal map. I receive an error when entering both and when I attempt to redeem again it says they were used. I try to check the store on my phone app to check my list of games that I redeemed and can download but I am met with an endless loading screen. I try another browser to try and access the store but after putting in my information it says, "Failed Sign In." Every browser I am already signed in on gives me an endless loading screen. So, I contact the live chat and they had me attempt to download through my library, restore my licenses (got an error message), activate and deactivate, check the store if I could download it through there and nothing works. I was wondering if anyone knew how to resolve this or if you have encountered this before. I also, cannot play online even though I was playing one hour before trying to redeem my purchased game. PSN basically told me to wait it out, they did not offer any solution or say they would follow up with me, I'm on my own.
Problems with Family Management in 5.0
I am a married man who struggles with porn. I don't want to, but its a habit and its an addiction. I use a services to limit access on my computer and phone, which work pretty well. Anything that slips through the filter will notify an accountability partner of any mature content.
The PS4 has an internet browser that until 5.0 was easily blocked. The parental controls had a universal on/off switch that was easily locked behind a password. 5.0 makes this incredibly difficult.
First, you cannot add parental controls to anyone over 18. Second, there is only one user on my console- me. So now I have to make another PSN account and user to get access to parental controls. So thats already a less-than-elegant solution to what we had before. Also, this other account doesn't have the saved game data and trophies that the main account does.
So I need some help. #1 would be to complain real loud to Sony to bring this simple on/off feature back. #2 would be for someone to find a way to block the browser that maintains all my game data. If there was a way to change the family manager to another user, that would solve my problem. But right now, the one original user is the manager and you can not set any restrictions on that user. Like what if a kid was the only user before 5.0 and now the parent wants to set restrictions? Is there a way to do that without fucking up all the saved game data and trophies??
Sorry for the wall of text. I feel like Sony made these decision to protect themselves legally and not in their customers' best interest. I feel like Sony is unaware that their customer base is mostly adult men (ik Im an outlier in the porn department, one of few trying to stop).

Question concerning game regionality
So my friend has the following issue. His Battlefield 1 copy is bought from Europe but he bought the premuim from the US and his account is a US one. He gets an error. My question should this work in theory buying US DLC on a US account but for a game disk that is from Europe.

This update has improved peoples consoles but also bricked many in the process. The update scans your console for an unknown reason instead of adding the data and it aggresively judges the state of your console which will end up in no connection to the network. This has been going on since the update was released. Even happened to beta testers.
We should not have to sit here waiting for Sony to give us updates on this issue they should be on top of it and keeping us updated on each move they are doing. There are too many angry customers to not keep us in the loop.
Ive tried everything and my system doesnt want to install the update. I need a working patch and I wont buy a new console until Sony got it right.

Is it about that time for a new PS4?
Hey all, so I downloaded black ops 3 recently and tried to play but got error code CE-34878-0. After a week of trying and the new system update I'm good to go. Yet after playing fortnite last night and this afternoon I'm now getting the same error again. Does anyone have any insight on the problem? Thanks in advance!
GT Sport has taken the title from Driveclub as the prettiest racer on console.
Good god it's gorgeous. Especially in 4k with HDR. Photo mode looks real you can't tell the difference. I guess they want with quality of quanity. If it plays half as good as it looks they turned a believer into me.

Constant PS4 shutdowns after 5.0 update
I'm on mobile so please excuse the shitty formatting.
Ever since I downloaded the 5.0 update my PS4 has been having hard crashes. One moment I'm playing a game, and the next my PS4 is dead. When I turn the console back on it checks the system storage or rebuilds the database. Then reminds me to not unplug the PS4 power cord. It started happening at random intervals of play, but today it keeps shutting off within minutes of powering it on. Even in safe mode it'll crash.
I've tried the following things: 1) using a different outlet 2) using a different AC cord 3) redownloading the update 4) rebuilding the database 5) initializing the console 6) reinstalling the system software
I'm at a loss on what to do, and I can't buy another PS4. Please help!

Bought game not letting me download
So I just bought Dragons Dogma off the ps store but it isn't coming up as bought. The money has came out of my bank account but there is no sign of the game in my library and when I go in the games page it has the option to add to cart but get in error saying "we're sorry, this product cannot be purchased at this time" what can I do about this??

Speed Up PS4 (Pro) Wifi. Switch WPA -> WPA2.
tl;dr If your Wifi encryption is set to WPA(or compatibility mode, WPA/WPA2) or even WEP change your wifi encryption to WPA2-Personal Only, as it's the newer standard and should be faster and safer, if you have PS4 Pro and 5GHz network switch to 5GHz only.
So I was downloading WipeOut and realise my download speed was rather slow, it averages less than 10 Mbps (about 1 megabyte/s), thats abysmally slow considering I have a 360 Mbps connection and I'm using a 5GHz. sure, Sony server has been known to be slow, but that still didn't make sense.
after some back and forth I found out that my router can show me the connection speed of connected devices, the PS4 was connecting with speed of 26-39 Mbps ( 5GHz vs 2.5GHz, yes 5GHz was slower :scratch_head: )
after some more head scratching I recall reading awhile back about how wifi encryption can effect connection speed, so I went searching more about it, since I remember nothing of the topic, if you want more details check this article. the sort version is, WPA2 > WPA > WEP, in reality you shouldn't be using anything beside WPA2 except for cases where you have devices on the network that don't support WPA2, with that said we're now in nearly at 2018 and that shouldn't be an issue this.
The Result... PS4 Pro connects to the router with speed of 866Mbps with real world download speed of 100Mbps (just over 10 megabytes per second), I restarted the entire download and WipeOut 22GB was downloaded in under 30 minutes.
Now, if you own a Pro and have a router with 5GHz support, you can force Pro to always use 5GHz by (1) splitting your network into 5GHz and 2.4GHz or (b) during Wifi scan on PS4, Press (Option) and select 5GHz only.
If you don't, 2.4GHz is theoretically capable of 72Mbps speed, which sure beats being limited to 36Mbps.
P.S. My issue could be caused by either or both my Pro & router, so your result may vary, so I'd like to hear your experience if you tried this. However, worst comes to worst, you really should be using WPA2 to start with.
How do you delete a user?
I googled this and all the answers say to go to settings -> initialization but there are no delete user options there.

I remember being intrigued by the game, but it caused the PS4 to nearly have a heart attack from what I remember, and it was very glitchy. Has any of this been patched, enough so that it's maybe worth a playthrough?
An offshoot question: If it's not, are there many other first person exploration games in the same vein I'm missing out on? I think I've played most (Edith Finch, Gome Home, Everybody's gone to the Rapture). R6 siege addons arent appearing in game
So i purchased 2 r6 siege addons and ive downloaded them from the ps store and they still arent showing up in game. The disk and account region are both us. I also tried restarting the ps and closing the app but it did nothing. Please help i dont want my money to be spent on something i cant use.
Headset Emits a Deep basey feedback only when in specific room.
I'm having this issue with my Logitech Headset H390. If I set my Ps4 in the living room, the mic works fine. If I set it up in my room the Mic emits this really deep base feedback that I can't get rid of. Both spots have the same Power Strip. It happens if I test my Mic, with only the Power Cord plugged in, and the PS4 obviously powered on.
Works fine on my PC, and in other locations just not in this one room. I'm not sure what the problem could be.

Okay, Headset issue might be a bit misleading here, but it's the only brief topic I can give.
Okay, so I've been playing Destiny 2 with some friends, and sometimes during playing my screen will randomly turn back to the blue launch screen, but usually goes away quickly, but it takes just long enough to interrupt gameplay.
If I don't press anything when the screen launches, the system seems to be asking me who's using a USB headset. The problem is, I don't use a USB headset, I use a 3.5mm jack connected to my controller.
Any way to solve this issue? I'm planning on raiding soon and don't want to die because of this issue.

I can't believe I'm thinking this but man, I can't quite put my finger on it but SWBF2 graphics are bad and sloppy looking and it's just not a fun game at all. I remember being more impressed with the original Battlefront than this. Thoughts?
PS4 Colors are oversaturated?
The highlights are blown and the dynamic range just isnt what it used to be. I don't know how to fix this, it's not the TV and I reset the system settings and the issue keeps happening.
MGSV is a surprisingly Solid game.
So, as some of you might know, MGSV is free for PS+ subscribers.
This came as a surprise to me considering most PS+ games are a bit...hollow, to say the least. They don't offer a lot and they're mostly either indie games or games that can be completed in a short time. (See: Not a Hero, Hue)
That was, until now. MGSV for free? Sony stepped their game completely here, and I applause them for it.
So, how good is MGSV? Awesome. The gameplay is so diverse and fun I'm super impressed. The FOX ENGINE looks awesome and the game rarely dropped below 60FPS. That being said, my PS4 gets a bit loud sometimes playing it, but not as loud as with Fortnite or inFamous: SS.
The story makes no bloody sense but the community is aware the timeline is a bit of a mess. If you're dipping your feet for the first time with the franchise like I did, consider watching a recap.
It also has some strangely hilarious dialogue and scenes for a game like this where you murder people, strangle them, or extract them with a parachute to a ship in the middle of nowhere.
You can also hook up a puppy to a parachute and send it to the Mother Base.
10/10 game.

usb sticks compatible to import files (for pes 2018 for example)

i don't know if it's because the PS4 updated today 5.0 version, but when i tried to put a usb stick that i have it wouldn't recognize the usb sticks asking for:
usb 3.0
250 gb storage minimum
fat 32 or exfat formatted
so it means i'd have to buy a f****ng hard drive to upload the option files? cannot be true, right?
anydboy with a word of advice? are there any usb sticks compatible?
EDIT: I see that windows 10 recognize and formats the usb drive i have (it's a sandisk cruzer edge 4 gb, maybe it's too old), but when i connect it to ps4 it still says FAT... the problem could be with windows?
What will happen if I delete account from PS4 ?
I've recently bought an used PS4. On it there was an account from a guy I bought it from, with 8 games (pretty good games too). When I was buying it, we didn't agree on buying his PSN account too, we agreed on buying a console only, so when I didn't manage to log in onto PS network with his account because he changed the password I wasn't surprised. However, when I logged in with my own account, I was able to play the games that HE owns. So, my question is is this allowed or am I risking a ban from PSN for playing games that I don't own ? What if his account gets banned, am I risking a ban on my console/ my account ? And finally, if I decide to delete his account from the console entirely, will I still keep the games and be able to play them ?

A game commenting/basing itself around the struggles of game development with some (technical) struggles of its own
When I requested to review The Magic Circle: Gold Edition some time ago, it was one of those few occasions where I neglected to view the description of a game in order to surprise myself. Having only knowledge on the most basic concept of it, I expected a game where I take control of the hero of an unfinished game and try to escape it by slaying enemies through an, at the time, unseen world that seemingly held lots of interest and potential. Rather, all expected combat was stripped from my character and I was thrust into a uniquely fleshed out puzzle game centered around engaging characters and conflicts.
Reading certain articles about Gold Edition, I learned that it is a sequel of sorts to a text-based adventure of the same name, minus the Gold Edition in the title. This makes certain characters developing the game more relatable in the sense that it makes their hardships in creating a sequel in-game to this real game made long ago understandable. These developers are Ish, Maze, and Coda. Ish is the creator of the series who’s been working on the unfinished game you journey through for twenty years who cannot stick with one idea and move towards completion with it. Maze is a former pro gamer forced to stay on the project due to her brand and name having been sold to Ish until the completion of the game. Lastly, Coda is an intern freshly brought onto the project who’s deeply passionate about making it the best game it can be. Furthering interest for these characters is their underlying goals which act as foils to the goals of those around them, such as Maze’s will to sabotage the game to get herself fired and re-attain her brand and name as well as Coda’s intent to slowly take control of the game away from Ish and make the game she “knows’ fans like her want.
Within the game these three are developing lies another character besides from you called Old Pro. Old Pro has been trapped in the game ever since it began development. Knowing full well that the game will never reach completion, he entrusts the player (or boss as he likes to call you) to fulfill this goal. Seeing how those within the game react to the actions of those outside of it and vice versa is perhaps the most appealing reason to fully playthrough this game as the direction of the narrative always maintained a level of quality which kept me involved in it and on my toes. On top of that, this quality gradually leading to a bittersweet ending that gives all-too-real commentary on game development made Gold Edition’s narrative even more memorable as a result.
Aside from the narrative, every other aspect of Gold Edition revolves around the theme of this game being in development. Gameplay sticks to this theme by including a mechanic where you can create magical portal traps to hack into creatures and steal parts of them which dictate how they attack, move, and determine who their allies/enemies are and attach them to other creatures due to their coding not being completely worked out. This ability, along with another one obtained later on where you can pinpoint a waypoint for your hacked allies to remain until you decide otherwise, is often used in combination with the aforementioned hacking mechanic to allow players to concoct multiple solutions to each puzzle in the game. It was really gratifying to finally solve an extremely mind-boggling puzzle and see other solutions online I hadn’t even thought of which required parts of enemies I never attained, encouraging me to go back and explore more of this modestly sized world for these parts and be surprised when I find hackable objects which unlock developer commentary by the characters, revealing interesting information about them and the plot.
There are two graphical styles within Gold Edition. One is a black and white ink-like style that is kept interesting with your surroundings becoming colorful with every step you take since you’re apparently bringing life to it, though it’s still a questionable art-style due to some creature models being rough around the edges. The other style is a sci-fi PS1 aesthetic that is really cool as it has the low-poly pixelated look of old-school games with modern day slickness and polish. On somewhat of a side note, although it makes sense narrative-wise, it feels like some potential was lost in not taking the chance to add in other visual styles based on different genres of games. Moving onward from that, music is perhaps the most faithful to making you feel like you’re in a game still in development as most of its soundtrack consists of a “live” orchestra with the composer commenting on fixes he wishes to make to songs in “real-time.” Yet, despite it being the most faithful to this title’s main theme, the soundtrack has no real unique twist like the graphics, gameplay, or narrative do in order to make it interesting to experience.
You know what’s arguably more important than making an interesting experience? An enjoyable one. Clearly, I enjoyed Gold Edition, but I was most assuredly not a fan of the two prevalent technical errors which degrade the quality of this game to some degree. The first, and perhaps the worst technical error, is the fact that loading a save file or booting up the game takes up to 1:30; why that’s bad should be obvious. The second is a seemingly uncapped framerate which does more harm to the smoothness of the game than aid it as more often than not, the framerate is either low or wavering between being smooth and slow as a snail. While this doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things since this is a slow-paced puzzle game and is also understandable considering how many creatures can be onscreen at once, it still ruins the overall flow of the game.
The Magic Circle: Gold Edition absolutely nails its theme of being a game in development by basing all of its aspects around it. However, some of these themed aspects like the soundtrack and ink-like graphical style could have used a bit more polish in order to make the game that much better (please just make my life easier and pretend I’m holding up two fingers close to each other in order to better emphasize this point). Although not themed, this applies to the technical aspects of the game as well. Despite these parts of the game making the general experience less enjoyable, they don’t detract from the immense enjoyability I had with the fantastic puzzles. Most importantly; however, they don’t overshadow the memorability of the narrative and its commentary on the hardships in developing games that gave me a newfound appreciation/point of view for game development as a whole. I highly recommend you purchase this title as while it’s length may not be the longest, it’s satisfyingly challenging puzzles and unforgettable narrative make it a must-buy, keeping in mind the annoyances of some factors.

My greatest complaint about MGS5 thusfar...

NO application is working. Restarting the PS4 lets me open a game, but it crashes 2 mins after - same error.

Hello everyone, yesterday I bought a PS4 slim and this is my first playstation ever (also first console in 7 years). I have been a PC gamer for years but have never played anything that is a PS exclusive or anything like that. I was hoping the community here could give me some "need to know" things about PS4 as well as any games I must play! Let me know your thoughts and thanks!
What are your thoughts on the addition of gay/bisexual main characters in video games?
I'm interested to read some discussion about this. The Last of Us, a PS4 exclusive, is likely the most forward story-driven video game in terms of non-heterosexual characters involvement in the story at this point.
What are your thoughts on existing gay characters, or the possibility of more gay characters being represented in video games?
Regardless of how politically correct your point of view is, if you are straight, do you see it as "difficult" playing a gay character if you would usually envision yourself as that character while playing? If you are gay, do you think it is unnecessary unless it plays a major role in that character's story-line? Would you be indifferent towards a character that just happens to be gay if it doesn't contribute to its growth, or would it actually annoy you?
I'm bisexual myself and I noticed that I don't really care to see "representation" in video games, it's more that I highly appreciate any atypical romance plot (as in a plot that hasn't been repeatedly done in stories). The way I see it, PS4-exclusives will likely continue this trend as a lot of the games' story lines have been a little bit more mature. I suspect there will be a gay character in Detrot: Become Human, for some reason.
What are your opinions on this?

Yesterday I couldn't access any online features of the PS4 so, I turned to the internet for answers where I managed to set a static IP address and connect my PS4 enabling me to play online. However coming back to it today I'm having similar problems occasionally being allowed to access online game play but getting kicked out every five minutes. I tried to redo the static IP address and to some avail it said it worked and I got online for roughly 5 minutes before getting kicked out again, I then reset my router and similarly I got online only to be kicked out again. Any suggestions for what I could do/try?
5.0 won't install
I have a pretty old PS4 the disk drive doesn't work but that isn't an issue because I download everything digitally, but this is still the source of my issue. Whenever I try to install the 5.0 firmware I get error code e-801809a8 and can't do anything, my PS4 is basically a brick. I've tried updating from safe mode, initializing it and downloading the update via USB to no avail. I know it's something to do with the disk drive was wondering if anyone has any suggestions, thanks.

I've tried to find an answer online but without any success yet. Since Fortnite has native mouse and keyboard support I wanted to try it out with my Corsair K70 Rapidfire and my Corsair M65 mouse. My Playstation recognizes both of them but unfortunately, my mouse isn't working at all.

PS4 disc won't come out when Error Code CE-34878-10 pops up.
I'm trying to play TLOU but jesus, it doesn't want to read it. It's clean, but everytime I insert it (no pun intended... just bad English) this error will appear. I googled it and yeah, it's just because it's supposed to be dirty or something and the disc reader can't launch it.
But even worse now, when I get this error code, I've got to eject the disc through the PS4, but here's the thing, it will get stuck in there. I have to restart the PS4 and eject the disc manually through the console itself (this touch button).
Low voice volume and high music volume

When I play DVD or Blu-ray movies on my PS4 the voice volume is always low so I have to raise the volyme quite a lot in order to hear what they are saying. The problem is that the background music and sound effects are really loud. Anyone else experiencing the same problem or maybe knows of a solution?

Help. After the 5.0 update my friend and I can't share games
So here's what happened. My friend and I had our PS4 set as each other's primary PS4 so we could play each other's games. Now after 5.0 it says about needing to check content licenses on the games I bought. I have forced it to validate the licenses in account management and it didn't help. I have let it sit over night and it still shows my games as locked when his PS4 is set as primary. He doesn't have the money for all the new games that come out and PlayStation plus so this was the only way we could play together. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have some pretty small hands, and I feel like I really have to stretch my thumbs to reach the thumb-sticks. I just kinda want a smaller controller, as it would be a lot more comfortable.

I'm having a problem recently...
Applications like YouTube (well so far it's only been YouTube) are freezing, and when I try to close them down, they then get stuck on the 'closing application' screen. My next step is usually to try and restart the PS4, but it then gets stuck on the 'restarting ps4' screen indefinitely. It's obviously still trying to close YouTube but isn't able to.
I then try putting it into Safe Mode, but I can't, so I have to pull the power cord. This wasn't too big a deal the first time, as much as I hate pulling the cord, but it's now happened 2 or 3 times this week so it's becoming a bit of a problem. It first occurred during the recent beta software, buts it's still happening now on 5.00.
Anyone ever experience this or know of a solution?

Corrupted External HDD
So I use an external HDD to take back and forth between two PS4s and sometimes I forget to safely eject it. Not it is saying the storage is corrupted and the hard drive needs to be re formatted. So I did that and now it is saying there's still problems with it and I'm getting an error code CE-30005-8 whenever I try to re format it again. Any ideas?
HELP! Are all my saved games gone now?
So, after I turned off my PS4 while playing uncharted 2, it got stuck in the blue "PS4 is turning off" screen for 30 minutes, after that I finally turned it off by manually pressing and holding the power button on the console. Then after restarting the console it rebooted on safe mode and told me to connect my controller through a USB cable and wanted me to connect a USB storage with the update 5.0 in it.
So, WTF? Did I just lose all my saved games by this complete random bullcrap. WTF have I done to deserve this? Also I don't have PS+ right now. I used to back up my saved games in a external storage device but hadn't done it for this particular game yet. I was like on the 24th chapter Ffs. So please, is there any way I can recover my save files or download someone else's saved games for the internet?

Can't Connect To PSN, Help!
Hey guys, I've been having some trouble with my PS4 connecting to PSN the past couple of days. I was able to play Rainbow Six Siege yesterday and part of today, however the connection has gotten worse and worse until I can't do anything. I first noticed yesterday when my ping wouldn't drop below 180ms which was very unusual.
I've called and spoken to PS Support and they seem to be blaming it on my ISP, however I've been able to play PC games, use the web, watch Netflix, and I can even use my PS4 web browser and various non-PSN related things.
I have not changed any settings and the problem seemingly has risen overnight. The only change in my console recently has been an update to For Honor and the new operating system update, which took place about 2-3 days prior to this issue if I'm not mistaken.
I have changed the manual DNS settings, entered safe mode and rebuilt the database [per psn support], and followed all the troubleshooting steps. I've power cycled all devices including my router, and I've disconnected every device except the PS4 and still nothing.
To clarify, I can test my connection and everything is totally fine except it fails to connect to PlayStation network. I was able to play multiplayer games on PC and stream on twitch, and I was able to use the internet on the PS4, but I couldn't reliably join parties, receive invites, view friends, ect. I was able to join a party but it took 7-8 attempts. I was able to connect to destiny 2 servers, but again 7-8 attempts and forget loading anything that required server communication. I read somewhere that logging in and out fixes it, but I logged out and now the connection times out and I'm unable to log back in.
PS4 is about 2 years old, Nathan Drake collection came with it when I got it new for reference. Internet is an unlimited 4G Verizon Jetpack [I know]. I've used the jetpack to play online games for 5 years with no problems, my speed is not throttled yet as I haven't hit the monthly data cap yet. Also no service interruptions in the area, as I said internet is fine, I was able to communicate with ubisoft Rainbow Six servers as well as blizzard servers on PC and play multiplayer no problem.
If anyone has any suggestions I'd love you forever, as I've exhausted almost all other options aside from literally reinstalling the operating system, but I really can't download 300Gb worth of games in one sitting due to data caps.

Hoping the good people of Reddit might be able to help me out here.
Fired up my PS4 for the first time in months this afternoon, and for some reason the controller will not connect with the system no matter what I try.
I've used up all my google-fu and now this is my last resort.
The controller is slowly pulsing orange when it is connected via USB, but will not do anything beyond that. I have tried resetting the controller as well as starting up the system in safe mode, but nothing seems to be working.
So is there any other way to get it to connect? Or am I up for a new controller?

I'm interested in some mods for Skyrim but I am afraid of overlaoding my game and suffering crashes or poor performance.
Currently I have dolomite weather, rain and snow fx, a redesigned whiterun, lampposts of Skyrim and I think that's it.
I'm interested in adding bridges of Skyrim and the fallen trees one and possibly a few more city/town overhauls. Do you think this will have a significant impact on performance.

My ps4 is not working
So a couple of days ago I installed the new 5.00 update to my ps4. The update was working fine until last night. I got off because my ps4 was lagging a little so I got off to let it settle for about an hour. When I turned my ps4 back on, it said that it was checking my system storage out of nowhere. Mind you this is after I installed the update. So then I got the update on a USB drive and tried to install it from there. That did not work because the USB was not formatted to the ps4 and how they operate their files. SO then I chose to initialize my ps4 since most of the games I play save data online. But every time I turned it on, all it did was flash the blue light on and off and then shut back off. Is there anyone that this has happened to or someone who can help me with this. I would really appreciate the help.
PS4 Platinum/Gold headset users (maybe others as well?) Are you guys getting a microphone muted notification every time you mute that does not stop after 5.0?
Using party chat, Playstation is now notifying me every single time I mute my mic. I appreciate the heads up ONCE but not every time I want to mute to eat a goddamn pretzel or sip a Friday night beeeer man!
Disabling all notifications does not affect this pop-up. Anyone else have this issue? Should I burn my PS4 and live in the woods?
PS4 Won't Detect Gold Wireless Headset, Please Help
Hey guys. So I didn't play my PS4 last night, and tonight I decided to play some Siege with some friends. But my Gold Wireless headset would not connect. The blue lights would flash and then the headset would give a 'beep' followed by a stable blue light, indicating that it had connected. But all audio output still comes from the TV. I tried checking devices in settings and connecting using the headset companion app, but the app only says 'connect wireless usb connector into PS4'. It's like the PS4 won't detect the headset or the usb connector, even though the usb connector has a stable blue light. I pressed some volume buttons on the headset, and it makes normal beeping voices but no game sound comes out. All sound comes out of the TV. I tried resetting the headphones via the app as well as physically resetting the usb connector via the external reset button and holding the VSS and mute button, but both didn't work. I rebuilt my PS4's database, and still nothing. Any help would be appreciated guys. I'm desperate for help, everything worked fine the other day when I last played.

Hey guys. I unchecked the "application update files" in 'Settings>System>Automatic Downloads', but the PS4 still auto downloads updates in rest mode when I don't want it to.
How can I fix this? For example, I'm trying to download the Battlefront beta overnight, but the PS4 automatically resumed the updates for my other games. How do I stop this even when I've already unchecked the box?

PS4 Pro not 1080p even though my settings are all properly adjusted.
So I have a pro that is connected to a 24" inch 1080p TV and when the pro is in use, the screen is clearly pixelated and definitely not 1080p, all the settings have been adjusted like the screen area, the resolution, hdcp settings, rgb settings, even all the settings for the tv have been adjusted. I had the tv plugged into an Xbox One earlier that day and it was clearly 1080p. I also plugged the ps4 into an older monitor that only has 720p and it looks better than the 1080p tv. Anyone have a clue why I could be having this problem?

After I am done streaming, I go to YouTube and fill in a more appropriate title and description. The default is what you describe your YouTube channel as and typing on the PS4, as you know, is a bitch. After that, I go to the 'My Shares' folder and all my videos have the same title and description as before it was edited.
I've tried both refreshing the folder and signing in and out of YouTube with no luck. Any Ideas?
External hdd issues
So i accidentally bumped the switch on the power switch and it messed up my files and games that are all on the hard drive. Now it asked me to repair which i did and not a single game will start up without an error and forced signout. I tried deleting a game and redownloading it to the ps4 internal hdd and it wont load and stops at the same spot every time after 3 tries. So i transfered another one over to internal rather than completely redownloading a game amd it still gives the error. But hulu that was on internal the whole time still works but it was the only thing on internal to begin with.
PS4 connection issue after waking up from rest mode.

I have had the issue for awhile now, I even tried a new router with no luck. What I have found to work is if i connect directly to my modem. I also got it to work if I put my router in Bridge mode with my modem, but then I pick up connections from everyone in my town (every time someone connects to a chromecast I get a notification that says "Someone on your network has started casting". I am even able to take control of the video of the person.)
So I i reset my router back to normal and Im having the issue again. It works fine when its on, but i have to resetup the network every time I turn on the ps4 from rest mode.
Any help would be appreciative.

External HDD isnt showing up?
I've been using this external HDD for awhile now. When I turned my Ps4 on my games downloaded to it don't work. So I clicked on connected devices and it says "connect HDD to the ps4". Everything is connected but it stopped working. Anyone have any idea what's going on? Do I need to change the cables? I can hear the harddrive on so I'm confused as to what's happening.

Pulsing on/off blue screen - I knocked HDMI earlier HELP
I dont know if its the cable thats fucked or the actual port. But after I knocked the cable earlier its been flashing this blue colour then back to black, no image on screen at all and I dont know what to do. I tried swapping the tv end to ps4 end and vice versa but its still doing it, so Im worried I damaged the actual port. Has anyone else gone through this?
Will a PS4 output to a TV and monitor at the same time?
So I know for sure that with a HDMI splitter a PS4 can split to two monitors simultaneously without any problem. It's done a lot now for FGC head to head setups. The thing I'm wondering is that if the PS4 was split towards a 4K TV and a 1440p monitor, could it display on both simultaneously? Would it just work without any problems, would I have to set the PS4 output to 1080p, would I have to get something other than a HDMI splitter, or would there be no way to get this to work at all?

Is there a way to clean out my PS4 without opening it up?
I’ve had my PS4 since release day, and I’m starting to have overheating issues. I get this issue particularly with graphically intensive games like Street Fighter V. Games like that also make my PS4’s fan run like a jet engine. I’m pretty sure it’s because there’s a lot of dust inside of it, since the area around it is pretty dusty and tends to accumulate dust rather quickly, no matter how much I clean it out. Of course, I could just open it up since the warranty’s been expired for years now, but I need a special screwdriver to open it up, and I don’t know where to get one. Is there a way to clean it out without opening it up?

Hi People, i'm having issues with my PS4, games that should run At 60fps run below 30 and games that runs At 30 are lagging as hell. Example INFAMOUS that lags everywhere or the beta of SWB2. What should i do? I'm pissed off because i already changed my PS4 for a new one because of this.

Got the update to V5 a few days ago on my Pro. If I say, launch the browser to google something really quick, it grinds the system to a near-hault. I thought it had frozen up.

Ps4 not uploading to YouTube
I have a 1 minute video clip I am trying to upload to YouTube. I have double checked my account is linked to YouTube account. And I cleared all uploads in my notification list (a suggestion I read) still no dice.
The error message reads "unable to upload [video title]" and it appears only a few seconds after the upload begins.

L2 goes off just by moving the controller.
Hey I just need some help with my Ps4 controller. Currently with one of my controllers my left bumper seems to be ridiculously sensitive.To the point where if I move my left joystick too quickly or just move my controller in general the left bumper will activate. It seems like it's probably an interior issue and I've opened up my other controller before, but it's a pain in the ass and I was wondering if it is even worth it? I bought it used about two years ago and as of currently it is completely useless because of the L2 bumper. Thanks.

It's the clutter from all of my gaming stuff, it's really starting to bother me. I have roommates so all of my TV is on my dresser and all of gaming stuff on a small ikea end table next to that. One day I will just buy a entertainment cabinet but for the time being that is not an option. I am looking for something vertical preferably. Anything any of you have used, i'd appreciate. I know this is probably a dumb post but whatever looking for ideas haha.

Mark my words.. Battle royale games will dethrone FPS games and be the next big thing for the next decade.
With the HUGE success seen by both Fortnite and PUBG, gamers are sending a message they are tired of the over abundance of FPS that are all practically the same game but with different box art and graphics.
This is NOT a gimmick, I don't remember seeing this kind of excitement surrounding a new genre since Halo 2 on the Xbox and COD MW on the 360.
The main reason in my opinion, well two main reasons actually why Fortnite and PUBG have exploded is A. FPS has overstayed its welcome and as a genre has gotten very stale and B. ANYONE can pick up and play a game like PUBG or Fortnite and still see success even if you don't win a match.
I own both PUBG on the PC and Fortnite on the PS4 and while I have never came in 1st place, I place consistently in the top 10 and despite not winning, I still feel like I accomplished something and feel satisfied.
I have a good track record of knowing if a game or genre is a gimmick or has staying power and Mark my words, battle royal is here to stay and expect all the big publishers like Ubi and Activision and jump on board.
Do not be surprised if the next COD and Battlefield games have a battle royal mode

I’m kind of a game collector. On Steam I have about 400 games, but on consoles, I’ve always been very reticent about buying digital games. I must have easily 500+ retail games just with last generation and this one.
Sony, though, is aggressively persuading me to buy digital games. Last sales have been very good, and I’ve bought a couple of titles. But the last one, “Only on PlayStation”, wow. Just The Last of Us, Ratchet & Clank and Wipeout and straight buys if you don’t own the retails.
Sony is doing things veeery good with their last sales. So much that I had to buy an external HDD for all the new games!

So I made one, and got the verification email, however, when I click “verify” it sends me to a page that only says “an error has occurred, please try again later. I have two pairs of AKG earbuds that came with my Galaxy S8.
One pair works fine with the dualshock ps4 controller, I can use the mic and hear gameplay.
the other pair however, which I just opened, will NOT work as a mic, I can only hear out of them.

Trying to figure out what's wrong with my PS4
To start off, I have a launch day PS4 and yes, it sounds like a jumbo jet taking off usually when I turn it on but that's not what's bothering me, just yesterday I started hearing this noise like something was rumbling around in there with the fan and it started out of nowhere so I turned off my PS4 all night and tried again in the morning and it was all good for about 15 mins until it gradually started again and then 5 mins after it started it said my PS4 was too hot and had to shut down so it did and then I turned it on 20 mins later to get a message "connect a usb storage device that contains an update file for reinstallation for version 5.00 or later" and I can't get past this point. Now while I know I NEED to pop open my PS4 and clean the dust out I'm just wondering if this is more 5.00 bricking my system or more so the dust thing with my fan?

I've been meaning to play Until Dawn for a while since it was free. I was thinking it might be fun for my girlfriend (who doesn't play video games at all) to try it. Am I correct in thinking until dawn is similar to a telltales game? Is this a good idea?
Complaint about Dark Souls 3: Copious boss fight after boss fight... Where's the exploration?
I know this game is about boss fights- they have been well-designed and rewarding so far. However, I am missing the rest of the game. After Yhorm the Giant I had to fight Sulivan and then there's a bit of exploration, very little though, and very linear, before going on to Aldrich the Devourer.
Then after Aldrich you get to explo- no, you get warped into your next boss fight. After several hours of fighting the Dancer of Boreal, the path opens up. A bit of exploration (a couple of minutes worth) and then you encounter.... yet another boss. This one is a malformed dragon, and while the design is very cool, it lead me to produce a big sigh.
In Dark Souls 2, the areas felt huge and diverging, whereas I've seen one major diverging path in this game, and it's doesn't seem to take me very far outside of pulling a lever in some molten landscape.
I like this game a lot, I get that bosses are the linchpins of this game, but please, without a table, I'd rather not eat the cake.
Am I missing something? Does the exploration come back at a later point? Am I just overestimating the level design? Please let me know your thoughts.
My PS4 keeps malfunctioning in rest mode
Every time I put my system into rest mode, after about 40 minutes to an hour it will start beeping non stop and then eject my disk. Any fixes for this?
Controller and internet disconnection when streaming.
This has happening for a year or so now. Sometimes, appears to be randomly, when I’m streaming the console seems to disconnect from everything and won’t reconnect.
I’ll be using a streaming service (Sky, NOW TV, All4, BBC iPlayer), it does it with them all, and the playback will abruptly stop, as if appearing to buffer but never restarts.
If I’m using the Sky app it tells me that I have “low bandwidth” although I assume that’s not exactly the case.
The light on the controller will go out when this happens, if the controller is still on. When I try and turn the controller back on, the light flashes white for 10-20 seconds and then stops. The controller doesn’t connect and pressing the keypads does nothing. This happens if the controller is connected with the cable, or is connected wirelessly, it doesn’t make a difference.
The only way I can get the PS4 to work or respond is by holding the power button on the console down until it switches off.
Like I said, it happens if I have strong/fast internet, if the controller is wireless or cable-connected, if there’s a disk inserted or not...etc. Only happens when streaming though, never when gaming.
Can anyone offer help?

If you ps4 is loud as hell, replace your fans. I've suffered with a dying fan for about a year, it sounded like a jet or a blender constantly, eventually the fan was in such bad condition it made the worst noise I've ever heard come from a console ( https://youtu.be/gIzv2uaJAC0 ) after cleaning the heatsink and replacing the fan (ALSO REAPPLY THERMAL PASTE) I can no longer hear the fan during gameplay, I can finally use my tv speakers instead of headphones.

Distortion on Mic/Headset
Hey everyone! I am having issues lately with my mic/headset that I'm really not sure how to fix. Does anyone have any advice?
I used to use a Wireless Gold Headset but recently (and unexpectedly) sold it to a friend because his was breaking and I had a decent backup (or so I thought). I have Sennheisser HD598C's that I use for my PC and have no issues there whatsoever. However, when plugged into my Dualshock 4 it will cut out and crackle at random times. It seems like a poor connection, but I use it on PC / phone just fine and it isn't a controller thing as I have three controllers who all do the same thing.
Last night I hard reset my console by unplugging it and leaving it be for a few. After turning it on it worked just fine for about an hour, then when I got off Fortnite BR and on to FIFA, it started again. However, I don't believe this to be a FIFA issue as a) it doesn't make sense to me and b) it's done it on Fortnite before. It's really annoying and I'm considering a new headset purchase but if it's fixable, I'd love to figure it out and save the ~$100.

Some Headphones Not Syncing with PS4 Over Bluetooth
I have a Sennheiser HD4.40 BT which isn't a gaming headset but rather just a regular bluetooth headphone, but I can't connect it to my PS4 via Bluetooth. It won't show up on the devices list in the PS4 menus. Is it something about the types of Bluetooth used by the two devices that are incompatible or am I doing something wrong?

Ethernet cable advice?
So I'm going to switching my ps4 to Ethernet as I ran a speed test on google and I'm getting 69.3mbps download and 18.2 mbps upload speed, but when I run on my ps4 I get about 18 down and 2 up.
I'm trying to stream and it just keeps failing. Is it worth getting a cat7 cable or should I just get a cat5?

Mouse non responsive on PS4
So I'm not sure which community to put this in however I hope y'all can help I'm having a problem trying to connect my mouse to my PlayStation 4, I have my keyboard connected and I have no problem with that but when I connect my Mouse it shows that it's connected but I have no movement. At first I thought it was my corsair vengeance M 65 gaming mouse because I have read articles saying that he too advanced mouses are not compatible. So I then tested a logitech gaming mouse which still did not work plus a basic Office mouse from Microsoft and an office mouse made by Dell and none of them worked. The way I am testing this is by going to the web browser. Is this the way to test it? Is there a setting that I need to change? I have read a lot of articles very similar to this problem but seems to have no solution. Also something to note is when I plugged in my corsair mouse I tested that in the game fortnite because I've seen videos of fortnite being compatible with mouse and keyboard. Please help.

No signal when connecting PS4 through a splitter
Hey guys,
I have a little problem. I just ordered this splitter earlier this week.
Unfortunately though I get no signal when connecting my PS4 through it. I have 3 different sources going in (PS4, Xbox 360, and retro consoles through a Scart to HDMI adapter). All of them work but the PS4.
If I connect the PS4 directly to either output it works just fine. Now here is the funny thing: If I connect the PS4 to the Scart to HDMI adapter (which has both an Scart or HDMI input) and connect the adapter to the switch it works fine as well (I hope I described that somewhat clear). This leads me to believe there might be something with the video output thats giving me trouble.
I am really out of ideas now. The following things I tried already:
- Changing input ports on the switch
- Changing HDMI cables
- Turning on/off HDCP
- Trying all video resolution settings
- Restarting the PS4 (who knows it could have helped)
I just can't seem to get it working and I have no idea why.

I am looking for a PS4 controller to use on my PC, but so far i haven't found any that works. I found this one but i am not sure if it works for PC, if anyone know please let me know.
Gravity Rush 1 and 2 servers closing early next year: what does it mean for a singleplayer game?
As far as I know it has no always online DRM or multiplayer, though I can be wrong on both as I know little of these games aside from a few trailers and reviews.
I really like both and aim to buy both, however they aren't too high on my "what I have time for" list and I wonder if I should force myself to play them sooner or I'll miss out on something.
Also, any "closing" patch announced? For example there are online DRM checking games on PC that no longer have the servers for the game to check in with, and the devs released a patch to remove this DRM. If some unlockables or anything else is tied to online in GR1,2 it would be good to know something like this is happening.

[PS4] USB Headset Won't work
I've been using my Razer Kraken Chroma 7.1 just fine on my PS4 for a while. After the 5.00 update it just won't work. Anyone know about this or have any solutions?

Hello everyone, i'm trying to buy gift cards for my new zealand PSN account and i was looking at pc game supply because that's the best one i know so far and there's australian gift cards only there and i was wondering if they work for new zealand, just wanted to make sure so i don't waste money on it. Is it just me or downloads are broken?
Since update 5.00 came out I've had this weird problems while downloading things from PS Store and updates for games. Download just stops randomly, not moving forward until I restart it entirely or reboot the console. I'm currently trying to download a game though, and the download bar is just stuck withouth moving forward, not even showing me how much I've downloaded and the time remaining, it only shows me this: (-).
Have got anything to help me fixing this problem? Is it just me or it's broken for someone else out there?
PS: Internet is working just fine on PC and other devices.
[Question] PS4 Is possessed and throwing rave party's
Woke up at 5am to the rave party my OG PS4 hosted by turning itself on along with the accessories all lighting up. Didn't think anything of it. (I had the button disk auto ejecting issue once or twice and it's since been fixed)
Controller was plugged in but not on I turned it on and then turned my ps4 off. Went to piss came back saw my ps4 was on again this time I turned my tv back on and checked what was up and it acted as if it had just gone thru piriavcy settings (checked phone no 2FA messages) said whatever and unplugged my ps4. Went to bed for 5 minutes. This time my extra set of controllers (all unplugged and haven't been used in over a week+) sitting on the other side flashed white trying to turn my ps4 on. Kinda confused i turned my lights on to see what the hell was going on. (It wasn't flashing when I was in the room when my ps4 was turning itself on) Messed around with the controller and it had no charge I pressed the home button and no lights but when I walked away from it it would turn itself on trying to flash.
I'm guessing it's just a sensor but either my house is haunted just in time for holloween or my ps4 is having some electrical issues that causes unplugged / unused controllers to turn on and vice versa
Does anyone by any chance know how to desync/ delist a controller from registering with my ps4
Also I'm not as much as of a gamer as I use to be but I rather just get the pro if this is going to be an on going issue, does Black Friday or any retailer have a good deal going on for trade ins toward a new pro?
Currently have a cleaning fiber cloth covering the controller so I don't have to see the demonic entity trying to talk to me in morse code. I Have class in 4 hours and I want to sleep.. Eh maybe demonic possession ain't that bad.

IMO Capcom is the best when it comes to combat. The combat is so good that it made the grinding in its game also very satisfying!

Hello there, i bought nioh's physical copy in Portugal on August, , my main psn account is american but i have another portuguese account, can i buy dlc in the portuguese ps store and play the dlc on my american account ?

Mgsv disc to digital save file
So I have mgsv on disc and now they made it available for free in this months ps plus lineup. So I figured I might as well download the digital version, saving me the hassle of changing disc since I tend to play a lot of nhl which I also have on disc. So my question is if anybody knows if I can continue from my old save game if I uninstall the disc version and install the digital? I heard it depends from game to game so I thought maybe someone else has tried it for mgsv

Saving data to put on a new PS4?
This is probably a simple solution/silly question.
I know you can hook up two PS4s and transfer between them, but I won't be able to do that.
In a nutshell, a local store has a deal where I can trade in my 500GB PS4 for a 1TB one. So, when I get the 1TB console home, I will no longer have the old one with all my saves on.
Is saving my data (save files, mainly) as simple as copying them to a USB hard drive then using that to put them on the new console?
My PS4 freezes whenever I press the PS Button while playing Metal Gear Solid V

Possible major glitch with 5.0 update.
I'm on GTA V using disk version and my friend who I'm in a party chat with sent me an invite to join his session. I went to the invite to accept it and instead of joining the session It went to PS store asking me to buy the game. I thought that's weird so I went to party chat to join the session off there and the same thing happened.
We went onto another game and tried it and the same thing was happening where it was just taking me to the PS store.

Constantly Restoring License
I am constantly having to restore my license to be able to watch Netflix and Hulu. No one else uses my account. The PS4 is solely mine. I am the Primary PS4. So why do i have to keep restoring my license to just watch Netflix and Hulu almost every time i get back on?!
Former PC gamer, switched to PS4
Hello y'all! As the title says, I've been on the PC side for many many years. I gave up on the PC, sold it, sold all of my Steam/Origin/Uplay accounts and all other games I had bought over the years. I got sick of just having to put up to upgrading the hardware every 2-3 years as I live in Romania and PC parts are not all that cheap, so I can keep up to the games.
So I made the jump to the console side and got myself a PS4 system (CUH-1200) a few days ago. So far I have 3 games and I love the consistency, how the games run, nothing to complain here. FPS games I need to get used to with the controller :) Overall, I love the system! If you guys have some tips, games I can buy, anything, would love to hear them.
