I've been having an issue with my PS4, where every time I try to put it into sleep mode, the PS4 shuts down and restarts itself. Anybody have any ideas as to what may be causing this?

Just finished Horizon: Zero Dawn
This game blew my fucking mind, just taking in every aspect of the story especially towards the end, the game is insane, definitely going to platinum it, but I wanted to share my experience. I had just heard it was an amazing game but I never expected it to be this good, atleast for me this was a last of us experience. Obviously different type of game but the enjoyment in the gameplay and the story were the nearly the same for me, I'm so happy to have a ps4
Trouble with debit cards.
I've recently bought a year of PS+ and am trying to download my free games.
Every time I try a screen asking for debit card info comes up.
I don't have a debit card anymore, and the game is FREE.
What do I do?
Downloaded add-on is not showing
I downloaded life is strange played till ep 3. Then download the 4th one but in menu of the game it says the 4th one isn't downloaded. It takes me to the store where it says I've downloaded it. I have tried this couple of times but cant play ep 4. Any FIX

[Spoilers] PSA: Mr. Shifty is a terrible port.
So, I was just about to roll end credits on Mr. Shifty when the game froze as soon as I beat the final boss. This was just the icing on the cake for how bad this port is. The entirety of my roughly 5 hours of play was riddled with slow downs, disappering objects, visible seams on the outside walls, and more.
This port appears to have been made by TinyBuild Games. They've got a bad track record with me at least because another game I own that they're responsible for is ClusterTruck. Since it's release on September 26, 2016 it has not had a single update. This is a problem for 2 reasons, there is no option for button remapping (which can be fixed with the accessibility options on ps4) and no ability to invert the y axis (which currently has no fix). The pc version of this game has tons of new features whereas the console version is missing basic functions. I've owned this game since release and can't even play it.
I wouldn't have made this post had this not locked up in the final moments, but seeing the TinyBuild logo again once I booted the game back up and discovering that I was going to have to redo the entire final level just broke me. This is not an acceptable port and I hope any of you who were interested stay away until these problems are fixed. TinyBuild is also involved in Superhot so I hope this isn't going to be a trifecta of shit ports once the 21st rolls around.
Super low download speed - w/ Ethernet - 1Gbps connection
Like title says, I barely get 1-5mb/s download speed where my network connection can easily get 50-100mb/s download speeds. I have tried the Google DNS "solution" to no avail. Downloading a 60GB game taking an entire day to play is ridiculous when it should only take 30 minutes (According to the speed test on the console -~300mbps).

Need help. I think my Horizon Zero Dawn disc may be counterfeit
I just purchased Horizon from Walmart and the disc is not recognized by my new PS4 Slim. The printed art on the disc is very rough whereas every other ps4 disc I own has smooth art. On the underside, the disc doesn't have any writting or text whatsoever, but my other games have codes and PS4 and other things written.
Can someone confirm their Horizon disc? Is it supposed to look like this?
It literally looks like someone took a random disc and printed their own art using a crappy printer.

Can the PS4 slim capture game play at 1080p
I do lets plays on YouTube mostly on PC games, but I would like to start using the PS4 for my videos also. Is it possible to record 1080p game play directly from the PS4? I have the PS4 slim model. I know the Pro does it but I dont want to buy a pro because I dont own a 4k display.

It's that time to upgrade my tv again and so much has changed since the last time I started researching TV's. I've been doing a ton of research though and I'm conflicted between a 55" Sony 900E or the 65" Vizio M65-E0. I understand the panel on the Sony is a bit better, but the vizio can be had for cheaper and a bigger screen. Can someone that has either of these TV's chime in on their experience with them? Ps4 not making the beep sound when turning on
Hey ps4 sub.
Lately I've been playing a lot of ff12 tza and when i turned on my ps4 after a 2 hour rest, the beep noise you hear when starting up doesn't happen. I tried googling as well but the one answer I found (from this sub btw) sounded more like satire than an actual reason. Is there something wrong with it or is it just me?

Do you have a game that you find yourself playing once in a blue moon, but for lots of hours at a time?
For example, personally Persona 5 is a game I very much enjoy, however I only find myself playing it once like every two weeks or something. It's one of those games where I know that if I'm going to sit down and play it, I'm going to devote some serious time into it while it's there. Also Persona is very heavy on dialogue and story, so for me, it's not always a game I want to get right back into during the limited time I have to game during the week/weekends (damn adulthood).
Anyone still try to use Remote Play?
I want to because my PS4 is in the living room of my apartment, but my internet is so crap it lags to no end on my laptop. Can't even throw a strike in The Show.

They need a MMOrpg like this that can keep the causal and hardcore player happy. It has a fantastic selection of classes with nice skill trees that open up every few levels. Great crafting/forging system. Great selection of loot with stat modifiers and then the loot can be modified with gem slots. Has great quests to do from one man to 2-6 man quests... then has quests that require 10-40 man teams with a fantastic matching system.
It's a great little social experience with some great great exploring, questing, combat, PvP. Really wish we had this on consoles.
"Problem" With New PS4 Controller Buttons
Alright, so I bought a new ps4 controller the other day and found out when I was looking online that there was a revision. SO i ordered the new revision of the ps4 controller which is Model ZCT2U (Original being ZCT1U). I know there are only some differences like the texture of the joysticks. While playing with it. I noticed some of the buttons dont feel as, I guess loose as my other controller, but ive been using that one since 2015 so i understand why those feel different, those buttons dont feel bad or anything, just slightly different.
Now the reason I made this post is because of the PS button. On my original controller, its really clicky and very satisfying to press. ON this new controller, it almost feels like its stuck, like how old conrollers get sticky. It is very unsatisfying to press and just feels wrong. NOW, if thats how its supposed to be, then I am perfectly fine with it, because it still works and you dont press it to do any game actions. But if anyone here has the newer controller and theres isnt like that, then I would really like to know.

I am having a hard time finding a new game to play that interests me. I enjoy games that have some action and adventure in them, while also having a really strong story.
Some of my favorite games I've played include: Life Is Strange, The Last Of Us, Beyond: Two Souls, Heavy Rain, Until Dawn, (I also enjoyed Firewatch but it was a bit too short in my opinion)

question about headphones/microphone setup for ps4
hey everyone,
i've been getting into multiplayer gaming more, and i'd like to get a microphone working for communication purposes (i want to try friday the 13th and heard it's pretty essential). here's my current setup:
i use icemat audio headphones with 2 3.5mm cords, 1 for mic and 1 for headphones. i run the headphones through an extender cable to my blu ray player/entertainment system (setup was purchased in 2010). my ps4 outputs hdmi to my tv, which then runs audio from the tv, through the blu ray player to a speaker setup/headphones.
i'd prefer not to buy a new headset if i don't have to. now, i've heard you can use the dual shock controller to output your microphone. how does that work? what about with just usb to the ps4? can i get a splitter so that i can plug in both of my cords from the dual shock controller? do i need to get a usb microphone/headset?

Wait, why is the "demo" downloading the entire game?
Wanted to try the CoD IW demo. Now it wants to download the entire 61gb game. What is up with that? As a matter of fact, why do all the demos I try to download end up downloading the entire game? Is this supposed to happen? If so it's ridiculous.
Controller Input Lag
I have my ps4 no more than 5 feet away in direct line of sight from me/my controller, and out of the blue it becomes unresponsive and inputs become delayed and/or extended from anywhere between 20 seconds all the way up to 5 minutes. (ie. Driving in GTA5 and trying to turn the car-- nothing happens for the first second, but when it does turn, it doesn't stop turning even when I let go; often ending up in me crashing.) This issue even persists with my other controllers; including when I use my wireless rockband guitar, all the inputs are delayed. Songs that I always get 5 stars on, sometimes, now I can barely finish with 2.
Here's my set up:
-wall mounted shelf with a dvr on the top shelf, and ps4 on the bottom.
-Wall mounted TV right above the shelf.
-below the shelf on the floor, is the router, which is connected to the PS4 via Ethernet.
-metal bed frame which I sit on to play usually.
This has been my set up for the past 5 weeks, and this issue only started happening last week.

Looking for some advice on a new gaming headset.
So i currently have a $50 turtle beach headset that I've used for about 3 years now.
I'm looking for something where i can
- adjust the volume of my friends talking,
- Adjust the volume of the game
- block out the sound of a fan ( it's really hot where I am and i need a fan on me at all times but my friends can hear the fan hitting the mic and its pretty annoying.
Wireless would be nice but it's not needed. I also don't want to break the bank. I've seen gaming headsets that cost as much as a ps4 and that's too damn high.
Sly Cooper 5 - Let's Make It Happen
Want another Sly Game? Well now that a TV series is happening the franchise will get some attention again in the near future. One of the best things to do is to tweet Shuhei Yoshida @yosp on Twitter to let Sony know we want Sly 5. Not a reboot game, but a sequel to Thieves in Time. Nobody wants a series to end on a cliffhanger. We can also let Sucker Punch and/or Sanzaru Games know we want Sly 5 since Sony would probably have one of them make the game. So if Sony knows enough people want this, and if the TV show does well, maybe Sly Cooper 5 will finally happen!

How should I spend the 10-hour trial of Mass Effect: Andromeda if I primarily solo games such as Killing Floor 2?
I know there's a single-player mode for the trial, but I'm curious as to whether creating custom solo matches in MP is a good idea or if the single-player has the same mechanics, just balanced for one person.
New Ps4 Slim making a lot of fan noise and heat
So, I just bought a Ps4 Slim in a pack with Horizon, The Uncharted Collection and The last of us. I've had it for a week and since day one, with almost any game it gets somewhat heated and the fans make tremedous noise. They often get very very loud, then get a little quieter but are still very much audible. The console is never completely quiet or even close. I'm not sure why this is happening or if I'm doing anything wrong.
TL;DR: Newly bought PS4 Slim gets incredibly loud and heated with every game.

Can I go straight into Uncharted 4?
I've been playing Golden Abyss on my Vita and love it. Im thinking buying Uncharted 4 but I haven't played the other games. Will I be missing out on alot? I don't have tons of time to play anymore and a huge backlog.
If I do play 4 will it be hard to go back to the first three at a later time?
Brand new PS4, is this normal?
Just bought a PS4 Slim 500GB purely for Crash Remastered. It will NOT switch unless my TV is on, and even then I have to press the power button multiple times to get it to switch on. It also flags up errors most times it's turned on about it not being turned off properly.
Is there some form of eco setting related to not turning on unless the TV is on, or am I somehow not pressing a button correctly?

So I've been using my PS4 for awhile and I mainly play offline or with the odd friend. Now recently I've been receiving messages like "Hey" or "Hey was up" from accounts I don't know. When I check the account profiles out it tells me they've got 0% game score and 0 trophies. They are also from different countries.
Is this some kind of bot? I'm not altogether that concerned. I am curious as to wether anybody else has had these random messages and/or know why I'm receiving them?

I'm probably not the only one who thinks that the current PlayStation App is long overdue an update with a design/UI overhaul and better performance. It feels like using an app from the Android Gingerbread days and its real sluggish. Is there any way to forward this concern to Sony so that they'd consider updating the app to something decent and more useful?

I need help with NAT types!
I'm not sure if this would be good place to seek advice, but I thought I'd try.
My PS4 is working fine. NAT Type 2, no issues connecting on games (aside from COD, but that's a whole other beast)
My brother just moved in and his PS4 is stuck on NAT Type 3. We can connect every now and then, but when we do he'll eventually get kicked from games or the party due to the server dropping. We've gone through WiFi, LAN, I set up a static IP, we've tried DMZ, and port forwarding and nothing has changed.
At the current state, we're both connected to the router via Ethernet.
What can I do to change his NAT Type from 3 to 2?
PS4 External hard drive not working
my hard drive is 1tb, and it has usb3. i tried to connect it to my ps4 and format it and it said it doesn't work because i either have to connect it internally or have a usb 3, but it does have usb3 what can i do.
DMC4 SE question (three playthroughs?)
Hey, had some spare cash and bought the incredibly cheap DMC4 from the psn EU store. The only DMC I played in the past is the new, weird and bad one. Didn't play all the way through because I couldn't stand the story. Might try it again once I'm done with 4.
Anyways, not that it matters. I'm two hours into DMC4 and I really enjoy it so far. I wonder though, there are three modes in this game where you use three different character sets (5 char. total) right? Are these only for gameplay differences/looks or does each mode contain a different story with different cutscenes?

How can I improve internet connection speed? (Wireless)
Hello. I just bought a PS4. I connect to internet via Wi-Fi. Signal strength is about %70. I have 10 Mbps internet connection, but I can use only 0.5-1.5 Mbps on PS4. Isn't %70 signal strength enough? When I put my PS4 near my router, signal strength is %100 and I can download everything with full speed. I already tried the Google DNS and changed MTU setting to 1450, but my connection is still slow. What can I do to improve my connection speed?
I've lost access to DLC I've paid for
I bought a Fallout 4 season pass when it came out and at a time had all the DLC installed and have played through them all. I deleted the game to make room for another and now that I'm trying to play again I can't access or download the DLC again without purchasing it. I've tried restoring my licenses but it hasn't fixed the issue. Any help is very appreciated.

Got a strange issue regarding my internet.
So I was using a lan connection with my PS4 and I'm getting 66 Mbps, even though my speed is supposed to be 125. I just connected wirelessly and got 102. Does this mean my ethernet cable is shit?

I used to stream on Twitch all the time and it never asked me to sign in to the PlayStation Network. Now it is telling me I MUST sign in to use this feature. Does that mean I need to purchase the PS4 online services or are they just forcing you to create an account now? PlayStation Vue not working
I just got standalone HBO with Vue, but nothing is working and apparently their customer service is Monday through Friday. I've tried restarting the PlayStation and all that, basically I can see everything, just nothing happens when I click play. Ideas?

I purchased a PS4 slim 1TB bundled with TLOU,UC and Infamous second son.My PS4 makes a creaky sound when I apply little pressure through my hands on console. Has anybody ever faced this problem before ? Is it normal ?
Using an external HDD to play games
So, I'm looking at getting some more space (shocker, I know) and I was wondering if the Seagate Ultra Slim Backup Plus 2TB or 4TB would be an option. I'm using that Google Express Groupon to buy it from Costco, and I have two questions:
1) Would either or both be an option for simple plug, format, and play? Meaning, out of box I could format, download games, and play from the external HDD.
2) Would either or both be able to be dismantled and installed into my PS4 if external is not an option.

Font size issues
Hey there, first, I'm not a big gamer so forgive my ignorance. I'm trying to play GTA for the first time on PS4 in my living room. I'm going through the initial story mode tutorial and the instructions come up for like .0002 seconds in a size -7 font. I can't see them and when I can they disappear quickly. Is there a way to increase the font size? Seems to be set up for computer monitor distance rather than couch distance. I can't even get through the tutorial without rage quitting lol

Assistance with an error code
How's it going everyone? I tried Googling this issue but didn't really come up with anything helpful or productive, so I was hoping to tap into the collective brain of reddit! I keep getting the error "WC-40382-7" when I try to purchase anything from my ps4, or when I go to the website to purchase from there. I also tried to add finds to my wallet, no luck there either. My billing address matches the card matches the address on the console, and none of my bank/PayPal/credit/debit information changed from two months ago when I was able to purchase things from my console. I also called my bank and there's nothing holding things up on that end, either. Does anyone have any experience with this? I tried to call Sony and tweet them and read the forums but I was unsuccessful on all fronts.

Horizon: Zero Dawn has an amazing story, and you should play it
I bought this game at launch, and absolutely love it. I got distracted by some other games for a bit, but in the past couple of weeks I've been playing it loads, watching the story unravel.
As per usual fare with an RPG there are loads of side objectives, but the game actually gets really interesting the deeper into the story you get.
Things take an exciting turn as it builds suspense around what's going on, and earlier today I reached the point where you learn why things are the way there. It was a mind blowing moment and made it clear why H:ZD is one of the coolest original ideas we've had in gaming.
If you enjoy good stories in games, you need to get this as soon as you can.

Issues With New DS4 Controller and PC
I'm not sure if this is the best place to ask, apologies if it's not.
Anyways, I had purchased a new DS4 to replace the original controller that had shipped with my PS4 years ago, as it had finally kicked the bucket. In addition to the typical PS4 usage, I often used the controller for PC games like Dark Souls and the new Dead Cells game. Recently some sort of update brought support to the PS4 controller in windows 10, which came as a welcome surprise due to my issues with DS4Windows.
Unfortunately, since buying the new version of the DS4, I've noticed that the same games that once recognized my DS4 now seem to lack that capability.
I'm wondering if this is an actual issue and I'm stuck with DS4Windows or if something software related is messing up.

In-Line Microphone/Dualshock 4 Discussion
So I have two Dualshock 4 controllers here, one came with my console back in 2014, and one brand new from last month. For in-line microphones, I have a pair of Bose QC15's, my Apple ear buds, and a cheap dollar store 3.5mm extension with mic.
Both my Bose and Apple buds mic input will work on my old controller if I quickly plug in & out the jack a few times, but will not work under any circumstances on my new controller.
My dollar store extension on the other hand, plugs in once and inputs sound perfectly, and has always outputted sound to my headphones with no issues.
my issue is now that: my old controller is dying, I've opened it up multiple times over the last few years to clean/replace the sticks, but its becoming too frequent, and my dollar store extension is now only outputting sound to one ear (issue is the wire down by the jack).
I was wondering a couple things:

Are PS4 Pros loud without using any of the boost/4K modes?
I've been doing research as I want to upgrade to a PS4 Pro as I'm sick of the noise of my PS4 drowning out the sound of my TV. I'm getting conflicting reports regarding PS4 Pro noise, though.
My question is, if I buy one and don't use any of the boost mode things, is it a quieter console in general? I don't own a 4K TV so I don't think I'd be missing out by not using the extra modes.
EDIT: Is there a better option in terms of quiet PS4 models? I have the OG model but would consider simply getting a slim if it is indeed quieter.

Not Getting Correct Speeds on PS4/PS3
So I upgraded my internet to 200mbps down 10 up. I'm getting that and more on all my devices besides the PS4 and PS3. I have the OG PS4 and the latest PS3 slim. Would anyone know what could possibly be wrong? I'm on Comcast so at the moment I'm using their Xfinity modem.
I'm getting about 29 down on the PS4 and 12 on the PS3. Their all connected via wifi.

I've googled, search this subreddit, but nothing is exactly my problem. On ps support they say it's a blu-ray drive error or a hard drive error then only gives steps to fix the blu-ray drive. My problem is with my extended storage (WD my book.)
So the problem is the ps4 wont read my external hard drive and all downloaded games won't work. It keeps telling me it needs to be re-formatted. I've tried rebuilding the database, unplugging/plugging it, safe mode starts, the system tried to "repair" it, but after everything it says I need to reformat the drive to make it work again. Is there any other solution someone might have so I don't have to delete and to download everything again? Has anyone else had this issue and know what causes it?

OG PS4 owner here, I think the new update did something to my ps4. should i be worried?
Last night i updated my ps4 and was watching netflix and turned my ps4 off (from the menu as always). i turned it on this morning and went to make breakfast when i heard the disc eject itself and the ps4 was beeping (eject noise) but in a countdown type rhythm. i could not press the eject button (was not stuck) as it was glitched into the OS beeping. the PS4 did manage to boot but aside from that i turned it off and turned it back on and it was working fine, should i be worried? im aware of the eject button issues and such and i'm positive its not that. I'm an avid gamer at most and play probably about less than 10 hours a week now so i'm not sure why it did that. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I like telltale games, and It looks it is becoming trend in PS+ monthly games. ( better than side scroller games). as for game of thrones I never watched the TV show. so here is my rant after playing 6 episodes; * spoiler * if you never played the game and want to play it don't read next. It is worst ending and it is not satisfying at all, it felt like it needs another episode. I mean come on Ludd and Ramasy are alive what the heck after what they have done we couldn't at least imprison them. I so wanted to kill Ramsay. ( maybe I have the worst ending but still ) see Ludd on his horse walking in front of injured Asher on the ground next to his dead mother as an end is very irritating. Gared is on the way to help the Forrester house but never arrive which felt there is a missing episode. Also their uncle Malcolm is suppose to bring the army of the dragon lady, but never heard anything from him. I hated the fact I was honest with Mira choices and that lead to her dead. I wanted her to be alive but not marrying the guy who set her up that means he won, and even after her death nothing happened to Rickard which is very upsetting. Again it might be my choices are bad or the story needs another episode to be completed. Also one question I wanted to watch game of thrones show, is it possible after I played the game, or I simply ruined the whole story for me ?

The Sexy Brutale is an isometric adventure puzzle game that's like a fun combination of Groundhog Day, Clue and Majora's Mask time travel mechanic. The game is about a murder mystery set in a masked ball where all the guests end up being murdered by the staff. Your character posesses a magical clock that allows you to rewind time to the beginning of the day and your goal is to save the guests while unravelling the mystery behind who organised these murders and other plot points I won't get into. However, the twist is that you cannot be seen by the guests you've to save or the members of staff who are the murderers. So you need to interact with the levels in a particular fashion (e.g. find a blank shell in one room and load it into a gun in another therefore one of the staff can't shoot one of the guests) without being spotted.
The gameplay loop breaks down to this: You discover which guest you've to save. You spy on the guest and see where they go. You follow them from room to room. You watch them die. You rewind time. You spy on the murderer. You watch how they plan the murder. You watch them kill the guest. Rewind time. You try to figure out a way to intervene by interacting by certain objects used in the murder. You save the guest and unlock a new power that unlocks a new section of the ball.
It's quite cheap but the level of style, clever dialogue, music and interesting puzzles on display here make this a fucking brilliant game that surpassed my expectations.
If you like good puzzles, Clue or just want to try such a unique game, you can't go wrong with The Sexy Brutale.

Can the ps4 be online immediately after booting up?
I can't seems to get online unless I go into settings and either uncheck and recheck "connect to the internet" or test internet connection.
Purchased FFXIV Stormblood and won't download. Help! :-/
I purchased FFXIV Stormblood from the PS Store on my PS4. It will not download nor does it show in my game library or purchase history. When I look the game up on the PS Store again, it shows "You are not able to purchase this product for the following reason(s): You already own: Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood Tracker".
It was $39.99. I have confirmed my credit card was charged. I have tried the support forums and have tried to download from my phone as suggested, but the phone app also shows I already own it and cannot download.

Saving Game States on PS4; Oh my! [user experience annoyance]

So, I'm currently playing Final Fantasy XII: TZA and enjoying it.
With one exception: The saving-your-game experience!
This is bad! I guess Square Enix has not written that themselves, but used a subsystem provided by Sony. I do not remember how it was back on the PS2, probably it wasn't pretty back then. But come on, it's 2017!
So when you save in FF12: TZA it goes something like this:
- approach save crystal and press X
- select SAVE, press X
- game changes into the Save-Your-Game interface: shown is a list of previous game saves and an empty slot on top, which is selected
- press X to select empty slot
- "Do you want to save?" No/Yes (No is selected)
- press -> to select Yes and press X
- system is writing and showing progress bar
- "Saving complete." (OK) press X
- again the list with previous save games is shown with a new slot on top, which is selected, and the freshly saved game on 2nd place
- press O (cancel) to leave and return to the game screen
In my opinion, steps 5 & 6 should only apply if you're overwriting a used slot. And steps 8-10 are completely unnecessary!
Also, and that is my personal taste, why am I dumped into this black & white user interface? This should all be perfectly viable in the standard game screen with the typical FF typed blue dialog boxes that are used throughout the game.
That last point may not be possible because it is an external subsystem called by the game. Again, I assume it is provided by Sony. I've seen this type of save/load system used since PS3. Maybe I'm wrong here.
So, that is my opinion on the matter, could be that I'm overreacting. It's the one point that annoys me on an otherwise perfectly enjoyable experience.
Is the PS4 UI Laggy for anyone else?
Most of what I use the PS4 UI for is loading games and their dlc, entering the store and news feed. Sometimes it takes forever, and other times it fails so i have to retry.
Is there some sort of fix for this?
Need Help: Wrong Disk Space PS4 Pro

Yesterday I bought a ps4 pro and downloaded some games. Started playing until dawn for a few hours. Today i inserted the BF1 Disk and the PS4 tells me „not enough storage“. Wtf? Looking into the storage settings there is a total of 103gb storage instead of 1tb. Tried to Restore Storage in the boot option „rebuild....“. Still 103gb. :((

Ive had my ps4 for about 3.5 years
fir the past two weeks my PS4 disc drive has constantly been making a wirring sound like its ejecting constantly. Fortunately 99% of my games are digital so it did not bother me. In the middle of a game of overwatch my ps4 suddenly was un-synced from all my controllers. I have 4 controllers i plugged them all in with a usb cord and zilch. I pressed the little reset button on the controllers too. Is there any fix to this? when they are plugged in via usb they still charge, but my ps4 wont acknowledge them no matter what i try. Has anyone else had this issue?

Why can't we upload images from the PS4 web browser?
It makes no sense to require me to transfer them to a PC when the PS4 most likely has a strong enough CPU to upload one jpeg.
A few things I'd like to see in Alien: Isolation 2
After playing Alien: Isolation for some time now, I've noticed a few things that I feel could have been implemented into the game.
A skill system/tree. Skills could included faster running speed or an upgraded inventory.
A stealth kill/disarm move. For a game that plays heavily on stealth, a stealth kill/disarm move would have helped in so many situations especially when it comes to those dreaded androids.
I know they wanted the game to be more of a survival horror cinematic experience, but there's always room for improvement.
What are your best Couch Co-Ops for PS4?

So I Just Beat Persona 5...(Spoilers)
...and I have to say...when Sojiro looked at the notebook I gave him back, it made walking away from a 60 hour save file so much harder.
For all the times I was bored to tears with the monotonous dialogue and semi-useless events, they really kick it into high gear near the end and keep you gripping the controller. The final couple hours were absolutely incredible and make it one stellar ride.
You truly care for your teammates at the end and it's honestly an extremely well written story once you look past the "filler". I'm a huge fan and already miss the Phantom Thieves.

Won a 1tb ps4. Already have an xbox one s. What are some exclusive titles worth playing?

Can't leave a particular group message, nor can I even send anything in it.
So yesterday I was messaging my friend through the mobile app when I started getting the red '!' icons saying my messages won't send. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app a few times with no success. So I tried sending my friend a message from my console when I got online and got the same problem. I can't even leave his group. I'm having no issues with this with my other group messages. Just me and this one friend. I tried contacting him with my other account and I can send stuff just fine. It's JUST my primary account that's causing problems with this one particular friend and I don't know what's going on.
Copying one External storage to another

Does anybody know if I can somehow trade my digital download code for a physical copy of a game? ISP doesn't offer enough speed or data to download a 60GB game.
Bought a PS4 bundle with The Last of Us about a year and a half ago, and gave up on ever playing it because my ISP only offers 100GB/month and max 6Mbps download speed, which it rarely reaches. Combined with the fact that I share the internet with 4 other people, it's simply impossible to download the game. Hell, game updates often take a huge amount of time.
Should I maybe email Sony, or the publishers/makers of the game? Maybe the store I bought it at could help?

In Hitman, can you not play elusive targets that are missed?
Just got Hitman and wanted to play the mission where you have to kill Gary Busey but it says that I missed the mission. I know these missions are timed but does that mean you can't play them anymore at all? If so, then what the fuck is this bullshit? What's the point of timed missions like where people who got the game late can't play them anymore.

So I've been messing around with graphic design a little, and noticed that on the playstation network store, most of the avatars are either from games, are flaming skulls, or snarky ones like "I reck noobs!" when we know that they don't wreck noobs.

The details that make up the very distinct atmosphere are all painstakingly recreated. The new story mesh incredibly well with the canon. Please do yourself a huge favor and play it. Apologies if this is a repetition of previous posts. I am looking to buy some head-set/phones for gaming on my PS4 and have little to no experience with this at all. This is not for online gaming specifically, mostly just so I can game in the evening and not irritate the missus.

USB Hubs - Do they work? Pros/cons?
I'm thinking about getting a USB splitter as one of my ports is taken by the PSVR processing box, I prefer not to have to plug it in every time I use the headset; the other is for charging controllers and pretty much everything else.
My question is this: if i plugged a hub into the second port, what can it/can it not do? I know powering stuff like fans (my PS4 sits on a laptop cooler) isn't a problem, but would it have issues reading flash drives or external drives? I tried once before and ran into problems recognizing drives, but I figured it was the cheap hub I was using.
Has anyone else had success or failure they can document?

Question about beta codes and region differences
Hey, I have a European account but recently moved to Canada and bought a PS4 here as well as pre-ordered Destiny 2. So the beta code I have is also an American code. When activating this it's asking me whether my platform is PS4 (Americas) or PS4 (EU). Does anyone know which would be the right one to select?

My friend and I have our own PS4s on the same network on different TVs. Sometimes I have to use his tv, but want to play my games.

Can't play any downloaded games
So I recently downloaded the COD MWR update and since I've downloaded it every time I try to load the game it says "(my ps4 username) has been logged out and an error has occurred). I tried deleting the game and redownloading and still error. Error is happening to my games that are downloaded to my ps4 and not disc games. Anyone got a solution?
Airport Security and PS4 HDD help
I'm going on vacation on the 18th which is unfortunately when the Destiny 2 Beta goes live, so I'm considering bringing me PS4 with me. If anyone has brought their's with them how did it go with security? I'd imagine they'd let you take it with you, and I'd prefer carryon since those guys tend to throw the bags for luggage when loading and docking.
Does anyone know if the security scanners (the big spinny things and the conveyor belt machine) with magnets would mess up the Hard Drive? I know they're supposed to be fairly strong magnets and don't want to take any chances. Would taking the HDD out of the PS4 be a good idea?

Driveclub full game(ps exclusive) vs full game vs season pass
I am planning to get driveclub and it looks like there are two versions that are very similar.
I'm only interested in the full game and not season pass. What's confusing is the description for full game in the two links is that the first one only lists 13 tracks in India while the second lists 78 tracks all over.

What is región locked?
I have purchased my ps4 pro in the UAE as well as set up my account there. I am now in the U.S and have brought over my ps4 pro for one month. I'm a bit confused on this whole region thing. Does this mean that the games that I buy physically here in the U.S won't work with my unit as well as vice versa? What about the actual unit? Will it work as normal as back home?

Dropped my PS4, now my controllers delayed. What do I do?
So last night I dropped my PS4 it was a pretty short fall but still and now the controller is delayed or sometimes it doesn't work sometimes it won't even turn on and it disconnects randomly. Any good casual games me and my girlfriend can play together?
Up until now, my girlfriend has always been pretty content just watching me play games or reading a book when I want to play games. But over the weekend, we went to a friend's house and played Mario Party 7 on GCube and Mario Kart Wii and she had a lot of fun.
Are there any good casual games on PS4 that we could enjoy together like that? Doesn't matter if it's against each other or split-screen co-op in a story game or whatever. Just looking for something that someone who is quite new to video games could still have fun playing with me, someone who's been playing games since he was like 7 (I'm 24 now).
PS4 Slim Having Serious WiFi problems
I have the 1TB Gold Slim and I'm on the latest firmware. Every single time I turn it on (from rest or fully off) I have to re-connect to WiFi. It's not a time issue - I turned it on, let it sit for a few minutes, and it didn't automatically connect. I tried googling but all that comes up is the 4.50 issues from a few months ago. Not sure if anyone else is having this problem, but help would be appreciated!
DS4 Input and Audio Lag...
Hey all, hope someone can help out with this.
I tend to play with headphones plugged into my controller for better immersion. For a while now, I've been experiencing audio lag (audio skips) whenever I play with anything plugged into the controller. This happens even if the controller is hard wired into the PS4.
For the past week now, the audio lag has actually progressed into an input lag as well. At random times, my controller stops responding to input, either completely ignore the inputs for a few seconds, or lag for a few and input everything late in a "flurry". This happens, again, even if my controller is hard wired into the PS4.
Now I'm having trouble gaming properly because my audio keeps on skipping, and my controller has inout lag EVEN WHEN PLUGGED INTO THE CONSOLE.
I'm at a loss for words. What do I do. I've already tried forgetting the controllers in Settings and re-pairing them but the issues persist.
This was never an issue. Why is this happening now? Are BOTH my controllers near death? Is my console on the Fritz?

Help!!! TIFU I didn't save my wife's save files before changing HDD

My PS4 Pro is warm in Rest Mode
I don't remember this happening in the past, but my PS4 Pro is warm when keeping a game suspended in Rest Mode. Has this always been the case and I haven't noticed? My USB ports are off in rest mode and nothing has been downloading.

I live in a house full of casual gamers—the likes who buy the yearly COD, FIFA, Madden franchises and really nothing else. I introduced Overcooked to them a few months back and they are OBSESSED. I'm looking for some more great 4 player couch co-op (or competitive) games along these lines. Anybody know of any hidden gems that I'm missing out on??

I'm having some serious trouble downloading Horizon Zero Dawn.
Just for starters, I bought this game last night. When I put the disc in for the first time, your usual loading notification came up, so I clicked on it.
After the update file for the 1.3 patch downloaded, the main game came up in the menu. I opened the downloading menu and watched it download for safety because that's how I am. Well, after about 15 minutes of "copying data", it booted me out of the downloading menu and onto the homescreen.
I was confused.
It was then that I noticed the loading bar underneath the game icon had a pause button on it.
I tried clicking the game icon to un-pause the download but i was booted back to the home screen immediately.
Since last night I've tried various fixes, from restarting my PS4 to deleting the game and downloading it again. I even rebuilt my PS4's database in safe mode.
I know storage is not an issue because I have 300+ GB left on my hard drive.
Please help.
A question about share play
Is it possible to do a share play where two people can play the same game on the same console at the same time but as a split screen game? For example, I have a game that is two players and my friend lives in a different state. I want him to play the game with me as a split screen. Could that be done via some kind of share play or something?

PSN Refund Policy [Small Rant]
Last night I pre-ordered Destiny 2 Digital Deluxe Edition because no store near me had the deluxe edition, this morning a store near me got the Deluxe edition in stock, I tried to get a refund on the pre-order. A few weeks ago I had a somewhat similar situation with another game but this was a game I bought and downloaded and played and ultimately didn't like and the person who helped me refunded me and I was very grateful.

You can cancel a digital content purchase within 14 days from the date of transaction, provided that you have not started downloading or streaming it.
Also in Pre-orders it says
You may cancel a pre-order of digital content at any time before the release date. Even though I was following the rules this time I wasn't able to get a refund, so just slightly irritated about that.

Controller won't sync
Hello I recently purchased a secondhand ps4 and no controllers will sync with it. I already had one this one is for my sons birthday it arrived yesterday. We couldn't get any of the 4 controllers in the house to sync to it. We tried multiple usb cables and pressing the reset button on the controllers. It does work in safe mode while wired to the console. I have tried every option I safe mode including reinitalizing and updating over Internet an usb both crash and give error codes which were Googled and no help. My so is about ready to take it apart and try to update with the hdd ribbon off. We're out of ideas and I was hoping someone here had a suggestion. Thanks for reading.

Season Pass sharing. Help please.
Hey guys. So last year I started playing Fallout 4 on my Partners PS4 console. They had already bought a season pass for his account and had all of the DLC. So when i started playing Fallout4 I could actually play the DLCs through my account. But we had to get the PS4 repaired due to the HDMI port being buggy. Now I'm finally loading up the game with his DLC installed through his account as normal but when i play through my account it will no longer show up and that I need to rebuy all of the DLC. Is there no more Season Pass sharing? and How come it worked before?
Getting rid of the "There are new events you might enjoy" notifications
Going into Settings -> Notifications and disabling the "Events" category led to no change whatsoever.
I've also tried to disable ALL notifications and I keep getting it.
Anybody know how to fix the issue once and for all?

Since we're getting a demo for both The Surge and Mass Effect Andromeda soon, I thought this a good time to talk about this.
It's never been an industry standard to have a demo for every game, but the amount of demos on the PS4 is still way below the normal margin.
I've had several occasions where I thought a game looked good, bought it, and couldn't get into it at all.
Having even a short, 10-minute demo available for a game gives players the chance to try it out before they buy it.
From a developer standpoint, I think that a demo can be the most convincing thing to make players want to buy your game. If a game is good and you let me play 10 minutes of it, I will almost certainly want to purchase the full product afterwards.
From a consumer standpoint, it's obvious that being able to try out a product that you'll be paying more than 50$ for is pretty awesome.
I hope some developers or publishers follow suit in the future and give us demos of their games.
Wierd stuff going on with messages
Does anybody have this message issue? After i send like 3,4 messages to my friend on my console next one gets send and suddenly i cant see my messages in the chat that i last wrote. It sound confusing but those who have rhis issue will know what am talking about. So am i only and is this known issue, is it problem on sonys side or mine. I noticed this happening yestreday.

Hey all, so I've never been into the fighting game genre! Recently I bought Injustice 2 and understood how to play this game pretty easily. I just picked up Tekken 7 and damn it is so much more overwhelming.
The combos are difficult to understand, and I really suck at trying anything on normal.

Game not appearing in Recent Activities/Wall Feed?
I have been playing Nier:Automata and i realized my Recent Activities under my profile page doesnt show the game at all. Not even "xxxxx played Nier for the first time" or any unlocked trophies shows up. I have sync with PSN for trophies and it doesnt shows. Is this normal for this particular game? Last game i played was Elite:Dangerous and that obviously shows on my activities tab but not Nier for some strange reason. Anyone got the same problem ?

What do I do before upgrading to a Pro?
Hey all, I'm planning on getting a Pro over the next few days, but I have a lot of data on my original PS4. I'm not too certain on what I need to do before I get the Pro, as I planned on trading in my current PS4 to put towards it. Headset with separate game and chat volume control
I've recently been noticing that in parties all my friends are so loud that it's hard to fully hear what's going on in game. I have the party setting moved to fully prioritize game volume but people are still too loud. I have a sneaky suspicion it's at least in part because people don't properly set up their mic volumes but whatever. I'm looking into a new headset for this. I would prefer a headset that isn't very expensive but I'm not sure what headsets offer this option. Thanks

For me, one of my most favorite video games that is emotionally powerful and sad has to be Final Fantasy XV. So, why is this my favorite emotional video game? Simply, it's because of it's brotherhood theme and also how long I waited for the game!
On to the brotherhood aspect of the game and why it makes this game so emotionally powerful for me Throughout the game, we are on a journey with Noctis and his friends Gladious, Ignis, and Prompto. What makes the brotherhood aspect so emotionally powerful to me is how it all comes together in the end and why the game director wanted to emphasize the brotherhood theme. (which I will not spoil). You the player, which is Noctis, goes on a journey with your three pals making memories together, going on car rides together, and talking about random things on the way. By doing this, the game is trying to make you, the player, have a connection with the characters and make you feel like you are part of them. It really makes you care what is going on in the game and know more about these characters on Noctis's journey. As you progress through the story, you see the challenges and sacrifices they go through in their journey to help Prince Noctis get to his objective. When you see these characters go through something, you can feel some kind of emotion because the game made you have a connection with these players which makes it more powerful. The music as well gives this game a even more emotional impact because it just fits so well. When something sad happens and that piano soundtrack sounds playing, it gives this game so much more emotion. All in all, Final Fantasy XV is my most emotionally powerful game because of the brotherhood theme and how the game has so much more emotional impact from going on a journey with Noctis's friends from the beginning to the end which symbolizes brotherhood.

Can a messed up television display cause a controller to act weird?
My TV has been having issues for the last few days and I think it's because it sustained some damage during a move. The screen has been flickering/flashing on and off at random.
Today I was playing Final Fantasy XIV and noticed that the controller was acting up as well. It seemed like the right stick was both overly sensitive and had a significant delay. The D-Pad was also not working correctly and wouldn't register input at random.
So now I am trying to figure out if this is related to my TV, an issue with the controller, or an issue with the game.
Made the switch to PS4
I made the switch from Xbox to PS4 after waiting on a baseball game to be made for Xbox but I got tired of waiting. So far I'm loving my PS4. Controller is 100x better to me than the XB1. I'm excited to game on the PS4 for the future and all the exclusives coming up.
One concern though. I noticed that sometimes my controller will lag behind my movement or what I'm trying to click and then it'll do that I input like the controller didn't have signal if I get within a certain range of my PS4. I saw that interference could be an issue but my router isn't in my room and I don't have any other stuff on wifi in my room near my PS4. It's not an issue when I'm sitting in my gaming chair up near my tv but when I back off and just wanna relax and lay in my bed and play some crash it'll lag. Not a big deal but can be annoying.

PS 4 Pro and the black screen on 4k TV problem
Hi guys, Recently swapped out my ps4 for ps4 pro - I have LG UF950V (UF9500 in states i believe), and every time I turn on my console I get black screen with sound. I have to go to tv options and turn on/off "UHD deep color" for the HDMI input to get video output. This is really frustrating before the firmware update console booted correctly into RGB 4k mode on first run, now its 420ymv. Is there any confirmation from sony to fix this problem? No other device has any issues working with the tv in 4k mode. I've been using the service menu to set up HDCP to 1.4, it didn't seem to help too much.
How far can I push the Amazon return policy?
So I made the impulse purchase of the PS4 Slim deal on Prime Day and it's arriving tomorrow.
I was thinking of playing it for a week or so, while taking delicate care of it obviously and subsequently returning it. My question is given how generous Amazon's policy is how far can I push it?
Can I unpack Uncharted 4 that comes with it? What about redeeming TLOU game code they've already sent to my email?
To the haters saying it's abuse, I am only seeking to act within Amazon's own TOS. They set the rules, we (the customers, the people) follow them. And let's not forget how much money they make through their dirty psychological tricks on us, predictable human beings, or the labor practices they employ in their warehouses or even corporate offices.

Mad Max Capture mode camera restricted?
I've been searching for a good hour now and trying to figure out why the capture mode camera is now limited in its movement. I remember playing a couple of days ago where i can get some really nice shots of the landscape, magnum opus, etc. But for as long as I can remember, this suddenly became a problem. I can only go as far as the original in game camera can go.
Last night, out of the blue while fighting enemies, I decided to take an action shot. The camera was randomly no longer restricted. I was in a stronghold during the fight. But now its back to its weird self.
Is there any solution for this? Ive read it was due to a patch, i dont know. I really miss being able to take some nice scenery shots or while tackling a convoy. Now with the camera being limited, it makes capture mode less useful :(

So, apparently, the DualShock4 does not have a discharge shunt built in...

Ever notice how your DualShock4 would be mysteriously dead whenever you returned to it on a full charge?
Well, I got to the bottom of this. Or at bare minimum, I have good reason to believe I did.
I bought one for use with my PC due to the touchpad which can utilize the mouse cursor, (preferable to the xbox controller imo, as well as interchangeability for tablets via Bluetooth) and I noticed that it would always seem to die on me for no reason whatsoever. I'd wake the PC up after a night of sleep, open DS4Windows, check battery level annnd... 0%. Dead. Even though it was 100% just the other night, with no wireless use that would lead into this. It should have retained its charge level over night.
I got fed up with this behavior because I (quite obviously) wanted to preserve the meager battery life for wireless usage only, leaving it tethered into the computer by wire whenever I was playing near enough to the system to prolong its usable lifespan. Being a PC guy, I'm kind of used to analyzing these things and troubleshooting, so I started experimenting and changing up my usage pattern...
Long story short, what I discovered is simple:
What happens is that if you leave the USB charge cable plugged into the DualShock4, EVEN WHEN THE CONTROLLER IS TURNED OFF, (all caps for emphasis) the battery charge is continuously leeching out into the metal wires connected to the micro USB port on the controller... This will happen whenever it is not receiving power through that cord to counteract the drain. Realistically, I'd imagine the internal battery to be in a continual state of discharge/charge as you plug it into any charge port due to this problem, and that can't be gentle on its life expectancy to begin with. It would be eating into the charge cycles slowly but surely.
However, if you unplug the charge cable at the controller, (take it out of the micro USB port) this will prevent the battery from discharging itself properly.
I don't have testing equipment to verify this theory other than a basic digital multimeter, (even though that's often all you need) but unfortunately, it's just a generic and not a nice model like a fluke. The probe tips on mine are a touch too fat to fit into the USB type A male connector and test the pinouts on it while the cable is plugged into the controller, and I don't want to loosen that connector since this is a cable I still use. The best I can say is, based on thorough observation and some amateurish understanding of electronics, it would probably check out if you did try it.
I'm sure this design fault is yet another reason why the controller has a terrible reputation for its battery life. It's not only the battery; it literally bleeds itself dry in a very common configuration (get lazy, leave the cable in for when you return) and it's so invisible and subtle that you would have no way of figuring out why unless you've really got an eye for detail. Took me at least a month to figure it out.
Try it yourself if you doubt me. Attach your charge cable to the micro USB, but don't use it. Leave the cable unplugged from any powered USB ports on your PS4, and watch it hemorrhage its charge level over time. Although I don't have a PS4 myself, I would imagine that if you turn the PS4 off but leave the cable plugged into a USB port on both ends, (PS4 and Controller) the console shouldn't be feeding power through the cable to charge it and this should eventually cause the controller battery to drop dead.
And yes, I do have the redesigned DS4 model where they fixed the thumb sticks and implemented data transfer through the cable so it's not forced to use only Bluetooth.
Sony either went cheap on that or did not design it properly. I share this information as a helpful PSA tipoff for you PS4 owners. Always disconnect the DS4 at the micro USB plug if not in use. It has to be disconnected at that specific port to preserve the battery for best practice.
