I never had any problems with 4.70, but last night I had GTA V running, and was in the ps4 menu when I see the "4.71 update added to downloads"; within 5-10 seconds the ps4 completely froze. The power button wouldn't beep even after holding for ~ 15 seconds. So I unplugged it, freezes again on the Warnings and Health screen. So I safemode, rebuild database, bootup, freezes again at the main menu. At this point I'm getting worried something was possibly fried from it being on too long so I force shutdown, let it rest for a while, came back and it's been fine. Now I'm on 4.71 no problems.
Was it the update messing things up or is my ps4 possibly about to go? I find it very coincidental, but my ps4 is old and has seen a lot including a lightning strike that blew almost everything else in the house. I also find it odd a new firmware could have caused problems if it wasn't even downloaded yet and 4.70 was solid for me.
