A while ago, after having read several glowing reviews of TpLink's Powerline Adapters, I pulled the trigger on a pair since my router is upstairs in my home but my main gaming room is downstairs. Because of this and my ISP's refusal to relocate the router or install a second box--anything--I have been gaming on wireless for years.
My home was built in 2012 and I am its first owner. There is absolutely no damage to its electrical system and it is very recent. Despite this and proper pairing of the adapters, when I can get connected my speeds are less than half of what WiFi offers. Worse, 90% of the time I so much as test my PS4's speeds while using them, it trips the fuse breaker in my bedroom, where the router is.
I'm pretty pissed about all of this. I've followed the directions exactly and kept the adapters away from fans and other motorized stuff. They are plugged directly into the walls, NOT power strips.
What could fucking explain this, and how might it be fixed!?
