What's with the fascination with Yakuza 0?

Hey guys! Lead by the constant praises of Yakuza 0 on this subreddit (as well as others, and high review scores) I decided to give this game a shot. I like fighting games, I'm interested in Japan, I've plenty of time to kill, and I sure as hell love the 80s - so naturally, I though it was the game for me.

Nope. Actually, it's not even a game - it's an interactive novel. This is the worst part - the cutscene/gameplay ratio if this game is honestly higher in the cutscene side. Way more so than even in Metal Gear games, though single cutscenes won't last as long as they have in MGS.

This would not be too bad, if over half the scenes lacked voice acting. Worse yet, some of the scenes are not even in-game - they're just low-budget static boards with text displayed. This is a literal joke.

What's next? The technical side. Yakuza 0 is a ps2-era game with HD textures. The movements and camera are weird and lack weight, you can only fight in a fight mode, and the gameplay is extremely repetitive.

The last thing is totally unexpected, and it's the lack of attention to detail. One of the biggest parts of the game for me was the 80s Japan. The pastel clothes, the old logos, the old, boxy electronics. And this game falls incredibly flat in that regard. The city is well-designed and arcades are great, but this is where it ends. You can't change the clothes. And worse yet, the props are just plain wrong. The TVs look like early 2000 units. The sports car looks like an early 2000 model. The alcohol bottles and cans are current designs. In a game all about its time and place, this is unforgivable.

Overall, I'm very disappointed in this game. I compelted the first two chapters, and I'm selling it back. Am I missing anything?
