Amazon is having a sale on digital codes for Fatshark's take on the Left 4 Dead forumla. If you like Co-Op games with loot, interesting backstory, tons of enemies, satisfying melee combat, and DLC you can access for free, this game is for you.
PSA: The PS4/Xbone versions of Vermintide are behind the PC version in terms of updates, so some unfortunate glitches persist. These problems are easily solved if you know what to do:
- Don't try to to launch the game without making sure it's fully installed on your console. With a recent update, PS4 lets you launch games while still streaming download data, to let you get into games more quickly. Trying to launch Vermintide in this way, however, will result in an immediate crash back to PS4 menu. So make sure everything is downloaded and installed first.
- Disable the game's built-in VOIP through the options menu at your earliest opportunity. The game is built on P2P server infrastructure, which means one person "Hosts" a game lobby, and the other 3 connect to them directly when they join up. However, when the in-game VOIP system is enabled, for whatever reason you will soon lose connection to the Host upon joining a game. This is easily rectified by simply opening up the Audio Options and turning off VOIP once you get into a game. No more crashes! And you can still feel free to use the PSN Party system for Voice Communication, that works without issues.
