Do I need to re set up internet connection if I've unplugged the Ethernet cable?

I only use 1 cable for both my ps4 and pc. I'd use a wired connection to download games and then plug it back to my PC. If I plug the ethernet cable in before booting up the ps4 would I be in wifi or wired mode?
