Okay, so here is the thing. I know how to forward ports, but the thing is, my PS3/PS4 is for some reason detecting the default router IP and the primary DNS server as 192.168.1.1, while the IP i have to type into google to reach my router settings utility as well as the default IP listed in the router settings utility is 192.168.0.1. I thought, what the hell, console is probably just being stupid, so I disregarded the difference and tried to set up its static IP as 192.168.1.1. Everything goes fine but when I go and try to forward certain game ports on my router settings utility, it says "invalid IP address, doesn't exist on this server" and I immediately knew it was because I used a 1 instead of a 0. But when I tried to set my static IP on my console as 192.168.0.x, it gives a DNS error and the connection test fails—rendering me unable to connect to the internet. Anyone knows what gives? Why are my playstation consoles incorrectly reporting the default IP as on a 192.168.1.1 network instead of 192.168.0.1? Do I have to restart my console or something? I've already tried establishing a default connection on them using the easy and auto detect settings.
edit: I should probably note that I switched internet providers and have spectrum now. When I got it,they gave us a box that functions as a modem and as a router. Before when I had Comcast, we had to get a router because they only gave us a modem. This means that we basically have a router/modem and a router now. The thing is, the router that gives my PC internet is an Arris one that functions as the main Router/modem and is the one Spectrum supplied us. There is an ethernet cable connecting it to our secondary router which we really dont need anymore but for some reason kept anyway(I wasn't there when internet guys came to set shit up and probably fucked up some shit). So basically we have two secure connections(Arris router internet and one from the box that is only a router, it's netgear). The ethernet cable for my PS3/PS4 are hooked into an ethernet cable that connects to the netgear router. Is this why it reports it as 192.168.1.1 instead of 192.168.0.1? Because we go past the .254 limit?
Help would be appreciated
