How quickly did you get used to ps4 controller?

After years of pc gaming i got my self a ps4 in hopes of saving some money (yeah building a gaming pc is a real pain in someones wallet).
The thing is i can't get used to the controller, and more specifically i can't shoot. Fixing the angle and hit the target quickly was never a problem with a pc but i struggle really hard with the ps4. Now i know i only got it 6 days but the frustration-anger is real and i want to know how much time it would take me to get better (if thats possible).
