Looking for a solution for rapid fire or lock buttons (CronusMax/xim4)

I'm looking for something that will help me lock a button down as if I'm holding it, rapid fire, or if I press one button it does multiple presses.

I've seen CronusMax and xim4, but most of the info I see on those is about using different controllers. Do they also do the stuff I'm looking for above? Is it easy to adjust the settings? Any recommendations?
