Sony should bring back the option to automatically disable PSN notifications when watching media like Blu-ray

It's a feature that I really liked using on my PS3 because when I'm watching a movie or TV show on Blu-ray (or Netflix) I want to be immersed in the story and not be pulled out of the immersion by a relatively load and large notification popping up. I'm surprised it's something that Sony took out when they were writing the code for the new OS and something that hasn't been brought back after all these years.
