You will very quickly realise it's an entirely different ball game, it's way more racing sim than Gt will ever be. The physics and damage models of the 2 games are miles apart. You cannot casually play project cars 2 and expect to win races and feel like a super star unless you put all the difficulty settings to easy.
You also unlock every car off the bat, and everyone seems to want to "work your way up in a Miata or Pt cruiser like I did back in gt3!" You will not get that in project cars, you can start in whatever class of racing you want right away. There is ZERO progression.
Also unless you have a racing wheel you will not fully enjoy this game. The dualshock controls for pcars1 are complete trash, and the developers have claimed to have fixed this issue but anyone whose gotten hands on demos have said that it's still very clunky with a controller. Don't even get online, the wheel users will completely dominate you, this is the same even in gt sport but the skill gap is MUCH less wide.
And i'm not bashing gran turismo OR project cars 2. Both games im predicting will sell pretty well, but they also each have their own communities. They're completely different beasts. I know everyone's upset PD are dropping the ball with this whole lack of single playability, but rushing to project cars will not be a good idea, and you should seriously do research before diving into that monster.
I'll be buying Gt sport day 1 because I enjoy its online competitive racing, Iplayed the beta daily and it's very fun I can't wait.. But it's also an easier game overall to play. I do not have the skills or racing setup for project cars 2, which I found out by playing 1 and seeing so.
