I have always had other things that were a higher priority to play than Assassin's Creed games, but I was leaning toward getting the upcoming one. I like ancient Egypt, and it sounds like Ubisoft took extra time to kind of take their gameplay apart and put it back together.
But after playing through Freedom Cry, I'm thinking I'll probably continue to leave the series alone. It succeeded as a badass simulator, but it didn't really have anything else that interested me. It didn't leave me with some burning curiosity to learn about this backstory/mythology. The thought of doing a full game's worth of Freedom-Cry-style silly mayhem doesn't seem that appealing.
I don't know; am I alone in this? Did anyone else try the series for the first time? Were you disappointed? I'm surprised I found it so poor; I know it's really popular.
