Can the Vita be used as a controller for couch co-op?

I don't know if anyone can answer this, but I'm planning on buying Divinity: Original Sin and I want to play couch co-op with one of my friends although I only have one PS4 controller. However he does have a PS Vita. Is it possible for him to use his Vita as a second controller?
