I wrote an email to Sony complaining about the recent price increase for PS Plus and this was their response

Thank you for your feedback regarding the recently announced price increase of the PlayStation Plus subscription service and I understand that you are frustrated with this recent decision. We are changing the pricing of PlayStation Plus to reflect various market conditions while enabling us to continue providing exceptional value to our members.

With your existing subscription and any future subscription time you purchase, you will be able to continue to enjoy the benefits and features of the Subscription such as online multiplayer, two ps4 games every month, exclusive discounts and 10GB online storage for game saves.

With PlayStation Plus we are focused on delivering exceptional value with the monthly games on offer. For example, this August we are offering Just Cause 3 and Assassins Creed Freedom Cry for PS4 users to enjoy as part of the subscription.

I understand that you are not happy with the price increase, I thank you for taking the time to write your feedback in regards to this recent decision and I hope you continue to enjoy the subscription period that you have already activated on your SEN Account.
