I'm thinking about getting a PS4 Pro and have a question about upgrading the hard drive.

Hopefully this is a straightforward question but I can't seem to find a clear answer.

I'm thinking of buying a PS4 pro and want to install a 2TB hard drive in it. Can I install the hard drive before turning it on for the first time or should I turn it on with the stock hard drive in and then proceed with installation? I'm not sure if the system will recognize the 2TB drive right away but it would just save me the extra step. Thank you.
