Since when was The Witcher 3's combat bad?

I've been seeing a lot of comments around talk about how bad the combat is in The Witcher 3. Its bad? I go out of my way to get into fights because the swordplay/dodging felt so good. What do you think? Its no Bloodborne or Horizon but I think it's a huge improvement from Witcher 2.
