Trophy hunters, what's your strategy? Do you play through a game until you get that Platinum, even if it means waiting on other games?

Just curious as to what set strategies you guys have in tackling games. I recently got into trophies and I realized I barely knew or understood how the trophy system worked. I have a ton of backlog and games I just chipped at.
