Turns out Until Dawn is known for terrible performance. Anything I can do to fix that?

I couldn't even leave the first room the game starts with, because the low fps was destroying the smooth cinematic experience that I'd expect from an interactive-movie-like game. There wasn't a single camera movement in all the video the game starts with and the 5 to 10 minutes I spent with gameplay, it just feels so bad, definitely way below the 30fps minimum it should be all the time.

I own a PS4 Pro if that makes any difference. I'd really like to experience and enjoy Until Dawn because the trailers are promising but it feels like I'm seeing a trailer that stops for a split moment every few moments.
