Everything was fine until the installation progress reached 45%, then the disc drive started making weird noises and I got a disc read error.
This happened again repeatedly so I ejected the disc to see if it was dirty, it was clean so I put it back in and tried again, disc read error.
Tried 10 of my other games to see if the disc drive was borked but they all ran without issue, tried Mafia 3 again after that but got disc read error again.
I then tried all the usual safe mode stuff like rebuilding the database but nothing helped.
All that's left to try is contacting Sony but they've been extremely unhelpful in the past so this post is a last ditch attempt to find a solution before I waste my time. Hopefully someone here can help.
