I just picked one up and I was curious about this. My launch controllers lasted about 6 months before the rubber was worn off and the shoulder buttons were partially broken. I replaced them with 2 urban camo controllers, which obviously had some unannounced improvements since one of them is still going strong years later; the other one has a messed up R3 switch so I just bought one of the new ones with the light bar on front to replace it. Is there any difference between versions besides the slight color changes and the light bar on front?
