Use Ethernet when I play, doesn't lag when anyone isn't using Netflix but does when someone is. Will a new/dualband router help instead of the old stock one we have?

I get about 20-25down, like 3up, but whenever Netflix or Hulu is being streamed I start to lag pretty badly online. Could a new router help the issue?
