Which router do I need to port forward for Remote Play over the Internet?

I have a ps4 at my Dad's house that's hard-wired to the router there and want to use remote play at my Mom's house. It can never find the PS4 and I've read that I need to open up ports to allow the connection. Which router do I need to do that for or is it for both?
