Why don't games/consoles provide a checklist and progress report of trophy requirements?

Trying to platinum Batman Arkham Knight which includes doing all those challenges and completing all the absurd trophy requirements (A Leap of Faith for instance) which in itself is hard enough and then add to it numerous "glitched" trophies where you don't know whether you've actually done enough for your trophy because the wretched thing refuses to POP. Then you end up thinking you're not good enough and then start blabbering like a madman at your TV. Then there are those which take forever to appear because apparently they behave like all those girls I hope to get a text back from. Thankfully though, unlike those girls' texts, the trophies do pop up but until then you have to keep doing the tasks repetitively like a mechanical maniac. For instance, I was doing "Point of Impact" trophy requirement of which was to do "five of a certain thing in a row" (trying not to spoil)... Now I did five of those and the trophy didn't come... I did ten and it didn't come... I shut down my ps4 and went for a break... Came back an hour later... Did five again... No luck... Did a couple of them five minutes later and voila, there it popped...

With all these features on our consoles, why not just give a progress tracker for every trophy?
