PS4 very loud, is it ok drill holes on the bottom cover?

Of course after removing it from the console first. I'm going to open up my PS4 tomorrow for the second time to clean dust inside, and though that if it helps I might as well drill some holes under the fan to give it more air. Does this really help the fan or will it make the situation even worse? It would also help with cleaning, just have to vacuum through those wholes or blow some compressed air in there, whichever is better.
