Are saved game on console or external drive?

Hey guys!

I made some renovation in my house and I seem to have missplaced my external hardrive when unplugging my ps4 and all my games were saved on it... I was wondering if there is a way to know if the actual saved games are on the drive or on the ps4? Ive looked everywhere and I cant find the drive so id be very upset if I lost all my saved games haha!
