I got my PS4 about a year and a half ago and have been using it both for games and as my default movie player for DVDs and BDs since then. I live with other people and have been using the headphone jack in the Dualshock 4 as the main audio output for the system. I've been through multiple sets of headphones since I started doing this and I'm beginning to wonder if the headphone jack in my controller is negatively affecting the headphones.
I notice that after a few months of use that the right side earphone fails. This has happened to each set of headphones I've used, regardless of brand or type -- I've bought multiple different brands of headphones, both earbuds and headset types, at different price points from $10 to $50 and they've all failed the same way after a few months.
Is this a known issue? Is it even possible that my Dualshock 4 is the problem here? It seems to be the common denominator in the scenario, but I've been unable to find anyone else online who seems to have this problem.
