Thinking about getting a PS4 and I have some questions

I apologize in advance because I'm sure this question has been asked a lot but I like to get fresh opinions. Anyways I'll get right to it.

I am primarily a PC gamer (heavy usage compared to consoles for about 6-7 years) but I'm wanting to get a PS4 to play some of the exclusives. Things like Horizon and Uncharted have caught my eye, for example. Things that I can play on PC instead will almost definitely be played on PC for me. So essentially I'm looking to get a PS4 for exclusives and sports games (Madden, MLB The Show).

My TV is an old piece of shit, to be blunt, as it's just a 720p or 768p I can't remember which but I got it six years ago. I am pondering getting a new TV but haven't decided between 1080p and 4k.

My main question is whether I should try to find deals on a PS4 Slim or pony up for a PS4 Pro. Since I am also in the market for a TV I'm kinda wanting opinions on 1080p vs 4k as well. Also are there really good deals to be had on these later on in the year? I was planning on not getting anything until at least the middle of August or so, so if I should wait for Black Friday deals or something I can probably do that.
