Games with Destiny-quality (or close) shooting?

I loved Destiny. Until I realized I cannot compete with hyperactive 13 year olds swearing at me and beating the everliving sh|t out of me because I don't get 45 hours a week to play. So I played a lot of solo stuff, some group stuff PvE, but I felt like I saw it all and had to move on, as I am not ever gonna be competitive for the grind.

Any other 1-player shooters that have anywhere near the satisfying shooting as Destiny? The only other ones I tried were Doom (fun, but so chaotic) and Wolfenstein (fun, but just didn't click for me).

With news that Destiny 2 looks to be just more of the same Destiny 1, I am asking you, Reddit. Any shooter games I should try? I really have very little experience with the genre in general, but am open to trying out some new stuff. Thanks.
