For folks who would like to get a universal remote to work with the PS4, I just wanted to let you know that I've successfully got the Logitech Harmony Elite to work satisfactorily. Out of the box, the Elite works great already. You set it up as a Bluetooth device on the PS4 and it allows you to use the following buttons: ps, options, share, directional arrows, triangle, circle, square, x. It also will turn off the PS4.
The only thing it doesn't do out of the box is turn the PS4 on. But with my Sony TV, I can get around that by turning the TV on, waiting 5 seconds, sending the TV command "SyncMenu", and sending the TV command "Enter". This will turn on the PS4 assuming you've set up your TV and PS4 to support HDMI control. So I basically just manually edited the power on sequence for the PS4 activity in the Logitech software to add that sequence of commands. I can now turn on and off the PS4 and control it as well as I could with the PS4 controller. I don't know what the exact commands would be with a non-SONY TV but I'd imagine there should be an equivalent if it's capable of HDMI control.
