I get occasionally chastised by friends and family for my love for videogames. "Games are so expensive!" "How can you afford such an expensive hobby?!" So my question is, in comparison to other hobbies (going to the movies every weekend, going to clubs/bars every weekend, golfing, buying gadgets-like drones, attending theme parks, concerts, and sporting events on a regular basis, etc.) how expensive is gaming really?
I know that just like anything else, it's as expensive as you want to make it; you don't have to buy every game the day it comes out and you don't NEED every accessory on the market, but broadly speaking, is gaming really THAT expensive?
