Would Until Dawn be a good game for someone new to gaming?

My girlfriend has little to no gaming experience and this game seemed like something we might be able to enjoy together. The problem is im not sure if I should be the one in the hot seat when we play or her. I'd love for her to be the one holding the controller but im skeptical she might have too much difficulty navigaing or performing QTEs.
