Question about Beyond Two Souls duo mode:

Posted over on beyond reddit but it doesn't seem to be active. So I have never played this game but amnintigued by the duo mode as I could play with my brother. Will we both get an evenly split amount of game time or is the second playable character, Aiden just a minor character that gets little play time? Also will playing duo mode deminish the quality of the story?
