Stupid question can I use a PS4 pro HDD with the regular PS4 or will I need to reinitialize?

I purchased 2 replacement HDDs, one for me and one for my brother. I set mine up fine, and I was going to setup and install all of his games but it dawned on me I have a pro and he has an og PS4.

The reason I wanted to do this for him is I have a gigabit internet connection whereas he doesn't.
