Can i buy ps plus discount games with a trial?

So I want to buy ufc 2 with the ps plus discount because I want to share it with a friend but my ps plus is on a diff account and I dont want to download it there. So my question is if I get a 14 or 2 day trial on my account will the discount work or not.
