Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Set Up/Audio Question

So I bought this headset today. Follows the instructions for PS4 Pro and I’m hearing sound both from the tv and headset. Previously when I had the Sony PlayStation Gold headset, whenever turned on the headset it automatically shut off tv audio. With the TB Stealth 700 I have to turn my TV down with the remote so I can only hear it from he head set. Is this normal or did I do something wrong?
