My little brother lives across the country and wants me to game share NBA 2k18 with him. I have never done this. Is there any risk involved?

I heard once that game sharing results in a ban or something. Can someone tell me if there is any truth to this, and if not, can someone give me a quick guide on how to game share? Thank you!
