My PS4 just suddenly screwed itself?

Hey guys, so I just got off work about an hour ago, I came home and turned on my PS4 and it seemed fine. I had left it in rest mode today so I could reinstall MKX and I wanted to play it. I launched the game, was gonna go into practice to refresh my memory, and then it just froze on the background while it loaded into the character select

So I tried to close the game and restart it, but it literally just stayed on the "closing application" screen forever. I gave it a solid 10 minutes before going what the fuck, and I decided to just restart the console instead. I turned it off and it froze on the shutting down screen. Yes, it wouldn't even fucking turn off properly. I gave it yet another 10 minutes and it didn't do shit. So I just unplugged the power cord despite it telling me not to do that because it obviously wasn't gonna actually shut down, at least not anytime soon

So I booted it up again, went to MKX, this time I actually got into the match loading screen, which it then froze on. So again I tried closing the app, and it wouldn't close. Tried turning the console off again, it wouldn't turn off

I don't know if it's MKX fucking it up or if there's something wrong with the console, but I'm really scared because my PS4 is literally all I have for entertainment. I have all my games for it, I just ordered an external hard drive for it, and it's what I use to watch Netflix and Hulu since we don't have cable

Is anyone else having weird issues like this and could maybe guess what the deal is? Thanks guys
